Let's Read Our Books in a Nook!
Funded Sep 29, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity in funding our Donors Choose project "Let's Read Our Books in a Nook!" The new resources will be utilized by our kindergarten students each and every day. The cute new stools in vibrant colors are the perfect space for a young reader to get lost in their book. The beautiful green floor seats are another flexible seating option that gets our kindergarteners excited for reading workshop time. Our beautiful new pocket charts are large enough that we can add all of the new words we are learning and make them large enough for the students to see and use. The bookcase is the perfect storage solution for the book bins the students will be using. The tent was a big hit as the students were super excited to take turns each day reading inside the tent.
When we unpacked all of the items the students' faces were beaming with smiles from ear to ear. The new materials added to our room help beautify and make learning, especially reading, super fun. The kindergarteners were particularly excited when they saw the tent all set up, because now they have a new fun space to read in each and every day.
Our new classroom project is to utilize all of our fun new materials each and every day and foster a love of reading.”

Funded Apr 7, 2021The students loved using the white boards! It was fun and interactive for them to respond on ZOOM. We used it daily for phonics, math and writing. During phonics instruction, students wrote on the white boards to tap out their words and hold up to show me, they used the boards to write dictated sentences, and to figure words from picture clues on our slides. For math, we used them to solve addition and subtraction problems.
When my students received the materials they were so happy to have this at home and feel like they were in a classroom again. It gave them a sense of motivation and inspiration to pay attention during our remote instruction.
The next steps for these white boards was that the students were able to keep them at home and use them as they wanted for years to come.”

Funded Sep 21, 2020First, I would like to say how grateful I am to you for providing my students with technology needs such as the headphones and wireless mouse. Your generosity has brought much ease and happiness to my students during this uncertain time.
I teach a fully remote first grade class and each day the students log in to Zoom to receive live instruction. The technology tool of the headphones provided by you have made such a difference in how much they are engaged. They love the headphones and think it is so cool that they get to wear them when they learn and talk in the microphones. All of the students in my class are excited each morning to see me and use their headphones to hear me clearer. Once again, thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during these uncertain and difficult times.”

Funded Feb 3, 2020Thank you so much for your generosity and contribution to our classroom. The durable travel book bags are an essential part of our home to school reading connection. When I received the message that our project was fully funded, I was ecstatic and could not wait to share the news with the students. Seeing their happy faces and the excitement to bring home these travel bags, I knew that these materials are going to make a huge difference.
The students have been using the durable travel bags daily and have expressed how happy they are they have not broke, and can close easily so their books do not fall out and get lost.
Once again thank you so much for contributing to our project. It's because of donors like you that we can have success within our classroom and provide our students with the basic needs of a classroom.”

Funded Mar 27, 2018First off I would like to begin by saying thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous donations to my project flexible seating. Upon receiving the materials, the students were so excited to finally have somewhere comfy and cozy to read their stories. We are using the new beanbags and floor seats daily when we are independently reading, guided reading, or on our i-pads. Specifically we have used them while studying volcanoes on our i-pads.
When the materials arrived to our classroom, the students were in awe and super interested in what we were going to be using the materials for. Once I unpacked them and set them up around the room, the students' instantly took a liking to them and could not wait for reading time.
For my classrooms next steps, I am hoping to get more books for independent and guided reading to really put this flexible seating to use! Once again thank you so much for contributing to our project!”

Funded Jan 2, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity and love for the students in my classroom. We are beyond ecstatic that we have received the two IPADS and IPAD covers. This new added element to our classroom has made a huge impact on our daily routine so far. I-Pads in the classroom are helping my students learn everyday. We have used the I-Pads to research endangered animals, listen to books, play math games, read books online, gain phonological awareness through alphabet apps, and much more. The students were so excited to use the I-pads to research their endangered animals. They watched videos on their animals, read articles and important facts on their animal, and searched real photos of their endangered animals. The students are flourishing and are excited when its time to use the I-Pads for school related assignments. Once again thank you so much for supporting our project and giving us this new technology to use in our classroom!”

Ready to Read: The Books Are All We Need!
Funded Jan 1, 2016Dear Donors:
After I found out our project for new big books was fully funded I was super excited. I immediately told my class and showed them the materials on the smart board. They were so excited to receive the new books to retell stories and use props to help them. These books were so beneficial to our class because they helped me discuss many reading skills that may be difficult for young learners. We used the big books for many skills, such as sequencing, retelling, main characters, setting, major events, opposites, rhyming words, and learning how to track the print. The big books make it easy to model how to track print and read more fluently. Thank you so much for all that you do. It is people like you that help educators like myself to bring the necessary resources for reading success to life.”

Speakaboos
Funded Feb 17, 2014I would like to begin with a huge thank you! Without your support my class and I would not have been able to use the software program speakaboos. This program brought joy to my special needs students as it read to them and highlighted words for them to read along. This project boosted my students' learning because it helped them learn to read in a fun way. The program also provided the students with games they could play that related to the story they read which helped with reading comprehension. Words cannot express our gratitude for your donations. Thank you for helping students receive a great education!”
