Safety Comes First
Funded Feb 9, 2017This project has given our school and staff the means to ensure that our lunch and recess periods are safe and fun. Throughout the day the staff is using the walkies to communicate important information as well as practice drills. In addition, the CPR dummies have given our school the ability to review and revisit the procedures for CPR and AED, this will ensure that we are prepared in case these supports are ever needed. We thank you for giving us the resources to ensure safety is the highest priority.”

Rising Readers
Funded Dec 29, 2016Thank you for your generous donation. Our first grade students were excited to receive new books. Because of your donation, our students are now looking forward to book shop in the classroom library for their leveled books.
Having an array of non-fiction and fiction books on level H, I, J, provides our students with the opportunity to better their reading and encourage other readers to strive and read on a higher reading level. We are extremely grateful that you have chosen our project to fund.”

Interactive Word Wall

Thank you for your kind donation! The project that you have funded gave us the opportunity to create an interactive word wall using the materials from the project. The students are now able to attach, detach, move and apply 1st grade sight words. Through out the day the student use this board as a valuable resource. At reading, the students identify the words and practice reading them. During writing, the students can now detach the words they need and use it in their writing.

1st Graders Wish List
Funded Mar 9, 2016Thank you for your donation, we are truly grateful for all the wonderful resources our students have received. During math our students are now able to work on their adding and subtraction fluency with games that are motivating and fun. In addition, we are able to incorporate math centers into our weekly schedule in which the students use a folder game to work on a skill they need to develop. During technology, our students are now able to keep the tablets together and accessible to all first graders. We are extremely appreciative of the journal, we use these journals every day and the students love having their own personal journal.

1st Grade Multisensory Centers
Funded Mar 9, 2016We are extremely grateful for the wonderful resources you have given to our classroom. During Guided Reading our students are now able to listen to stories on or above their grade level. Those who are below grade level are exposed to stories and a variety of new words. Those students who are above grade level were able to enjoy readings on their levels too. The listening center is truly great for all levels of our students. During our unit of study about Animals, our students were able to explore the specimen boxes. They learned so many facts about Sea Life, Mammals, Insects and Reptiles.

Help 1st Graders Develop their Cognitive and Fine Motor!
Funded Mar 29, 2016Our students were so excited to know that their project has been funded. This project was extra special because the students expressed the need of getting these specific materials in the classroom. They were extremely stoked when they saw the Lego's.
When they were using these fine motor games, they were so excited to built and create. They are expressing their creativity as well as enhancing their fine motor skills.

Special Sensory Students Need An Outlet!
Funded Mar 9, 2016Our first graders were so excited to receive this resources. When they first opened the box they were delighted to see all the new sensory materials they can use to during the day. The sensory sand and fidget toys were a big hit. The students have learned to use it to stay on task and focus.
During the day, some of our students with special needs need an outlet when they feel overwhelmed and when they exhibit a sensory overload. They know that they can come to a the sensory corner in the room to be able to release their needs.

Change Our Classroom From Obtrusive to Conducive to Learning

When we first received the package the students were so excited and eager to use their individual organizers. The students were anxious to use the new word wall, they use it everyday especially during writing. In addition, our students use the other resources you have generously donated to us in so many ways throughout the day, they use the pouches to put their books and their daily journals. Also, they use the students storage bins to put their group work and they really enjoy organizing our other class materials.

Integrated Classroom Learning Stations
Funded Dec 30, 2014Our students were so thrilled to open the boxes. Together as a class, we put together our learning centers. These learning centers are motivating, educational and provided a hands on approach for our students.
Everyday our students use these resources, they speak about these resources with other peers and family members. They are so appreciative of their new resources that they make sure the material is handled properly by all their peers. Most importantly, these resources have provided our students with tremendous gains in reading and writing.
Lastly, our students behavior has greatly improved because of the treasure box, they are excited to shop and use the treasure box money.

Funded Oct 23, 2014Our students were thrilled to receive the resources you have donated. They were so excited to be able to use their dry erase sleeves during literacy centers. Additionally the students love their math journals and math practice cards, they use them during math centers and morning work. The common core cards are a great addition to our classroom, our students are comprehending the standards they are working on. Due to your tremendous donation, our students are becoming independent learners and our teaching is clear and motivational. They students and I thank you again for your kind generosity!”
