  • No More Bullies

    Funded Apr 15, 2012

We are so excited to have received these amazing resources that will allow students to work on addressing the important issue of bullying in school. With the reading materials provided, I have been able to learn invaluable information on how to help my students cope with their peers in situations where they are being mistreated.

My students will greatly benefit from the games, books, plays and puppets this year and for years to come as they relate to the characters that have similar experiences to theirs. They are also able to act out situations they have experienced while coming up with the best approach to solve their problems. We can not thank you enough for your generosity in giving to children to help them develop good character and coping skills. We greatly appreciate your contributions. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Norris

  • We Need to Move It

    Funded Dec 1, 2011

I would like to extend my gratitude for your generosity. The students in my class are greatly benefiting from your donation of the ball shaped chairs. We have created a concentration station in our class where students go and sit to help them focus in order to complete their work. Students are making good choices by going to sit at the concentration station when they feel distracted and unfocused. They are taking responsibility for using their time wisely in order to finish their work.

I am happy to see that the chairs are helping the students become more responsible. They are understanding their academic learning needs and doing what is necessary to help them succeed. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Thank for helping the kids in my classroom become better students.

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Norris

  • The Earth Rocks!

    Funded Mar 4, 2010

Words are not enough to express how thankful my students and I are for the resources provided by your contributions. Using the rock samples, my second grade students were able to "put a face to a name" with rocks we learned about in our geology unit. They learned the types of rocks and their different properties from the books provided. They examined rock specimens for themselves, going so for as to be able to name a rock and its type just by looking at it. The experience has increased their knowledge and their vocabulary on the subject matter. This is wonderful to see in second grade students.

The fossil samples you have generously donated are aiding in our paleontology unit as we learn about fossilization and excavation. They generate so much enthusiasm. The best part has been making the learning process interactive for them with actual fossils to manipulate and identify as well as teaching them how geologists and paleontologists play important roles in our society by teaching us to learn from our surroundings.

Thank you for this special opportunity to make teaching exciting!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Norris
