  • Our Grad is Rad!

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to our graduation! Our Kindergarten team and especially the kiddos were ecstatic when they received their gifts! Our last day of class the kiddos enjoyed an end of the year party and went home with their gift filled buckets! I am pretty sure some of them probably ended up taking their buckets on vacation with them! :)

Thank you so much for helping me make a difference and for making their graduation and end of year celebrations memorable! Kindergarten is such an important year since it is their first experience in formal school, I am incredibly happy that not only did they have a great year, but they also had an amazing end of year celebration thanks to all of your help.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Millan

  • New Beginnings!

    Funded Sep 15, 2022

Thanks to your generosity my students had a very successful beginning to their school year! Firstly they enjoyed opening the items and seeing all of the new materials we had. They also helped me put them away in an organized manner. They were very grateful to receive items that we needed and almost always need more of! They have continued to take care of them. They worked hard learning their alphabet with Play-Doh mats and even used small pieces of Play-Doh for addition and subtraction!

Thank you again for your generosity and we hope you continue to help classrooms and students!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Millan

  • Cool for the Summer!

    Funded Mar 31, 2022

I just want to take a moment and thank you once again for helping our Kindergarten kiddos get a wonderful Graduation/ End of the Year gift! They were so happy to receive their buckets with sand tools, bubbles, sunglasses AND a summer book! Needless to say, the parents were also very very happy! Thank you for your generosity, but most of all, thank you for all of the beautiful smiles we were able to see and say goodbye to on our last day of school! You made our graduation day even more special! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Millan

  • Tying Up Loose Ends!

    Funded Nov 8, 2021

Thank you so much for helping me tie up those loose ends that always tend to happen one way or another! My class has gotten bigger since the beginning of the year and these materials will help all of my students be ready and set to go during our day. My students are all mostly Spanish speakers and are now learning English in school! One of the easiest ways to achieve that is through music and games. Our iPads will now always be charged, safe and ready to use! Some of the other materials such as command hooks will help students have easy access to their name plates so that they can practice their writing during arrival and right after lunch!

These loose ends are now all tied up and make our entire day a lot smoother! It's the little things that are sometimes overlooked that can make a World of a difference!

Thank you so much for your time and cooperation with this project!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Millan

  • Flex Your Seat!

    Funded May 4, 2021

I am so grateful to you for making this project possible. Most of my students have never been in a classroom and flexible seating is really making a difference in my room. From students who could not sit still, to students who have difficulty even sitting, our flexible seating, cushions, pillows and stools have really made a difference. Our cushions and pillows allow students to receive the sensory input they need in order to engage in lessons and focus on instruction instead of their jitters. Once students know they need a pillow for their chair, they are able to choose the color they would like for it too! Some students even bring their pillow over to my small table for small group or to the carpet for read aloud. Thank you so much for making a difference in our classroom! I am so thankful for everyone's support!

From K-303 we want to say "thank you so very much!"”

  • Ready, Set, Read!

    Funded May 8, 2021

Thank you so much for your help and for making this project possible. My kiddos are having so much fun exploring their new books and our entire library area. They loved the area the minute they saw it. I have some children that are able to read on their own up to level B almost C books and they have loved every non-fiction book in our sets. Our big books have helped us learn, review and practice our Concepts of Print- like how to hold a book upright, where is the cover, the back, where does the story start and how to track from left to right! It is so important for children- especially Early Childhood age- to be in print rich environments! Not only do these kiddos have labels all around them, they also have enough books to interact with and "read" to their friends.

From the bottom of our hearts, K-303 says "Thank you so so much!"”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Millan

I truly believe every student has the ability to learn and succeed! Students deserve the chance to grow and excel but the only way to achieve that is to help guide them with the appropriate tools and resources they need. Students benefit from hands-on, interactive learning materials as well as kinesthetic activities to aid them in retaining new information. Most of my students are also ELL's! Having been a bilingual student, I understand how important it is to have vast opportunities and supports in order to learn a new language and excel in it. Sensory materials such as cushions and seating provide students with sensory input to better help them focus in class. I believe all classrooms should be print rich, and full of learning and exploration. Help me, help my students and give them the opportunities they deserve. "Together we can make a difference!" at ps 173 we are family!
