  • Printing Paper and Ink

    Funded Nov 8, 2023

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the printing paper and ink for our printer. With these resources, my students and I have been able to create beautiful and informative posters, reports, and projects that showcase their learning. The printer has been buzzing with activity, and the smell of fresh ink fills the air!

When the students saw the stack of crisp, new paper and vibrant ink cartridges, their faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to start printing their work and seeing their ideas come to life. Your gift has brought color and creativity to our classroom, and we're so thankful for your support.

Currently, we're working on a math project. Your donation has made it possible for us to bring these projects to life.

  • "I Don't Have a Pencil Ms. M.!"

    Funded Dec 30, 2015

"Thank YOUUU!" My students shouted when they heard that they don't need to worry about a pencil for our writing class. This is thanks to the generosity of people who care. Today we wrote a journal entry about slavery in the Thirteen colonies using pencils. Today I tried one of our donated pens to write comments on students essays. I was so happy to know that we have these so much needed supplies. One of my students told me that it is time to create a new hallway pass with the laminating sheets! Good idea I said!!! So tomorrow I will allow one of my students to take ownership by creating and laminating this and other posters.

We plan to write so many essays, letters, journal entries, and more with these pencils.

Once again thank you for your generosity.”

  • Materials For Our "Around the World" Class

    Funded Dec 24, 2015

What a great surprise for a Monday morning! We found a huge box in the main office waiting for us. It was our materials!!! The box arrived!!! Our box had color paper, tape, pens, double tape, and the so needed sharpener. We are so thrilled!!! My students are so excited and want to create colorful and creative projects. They don't mind working their brain with rigorous work as long as they are allowed to show their creativity with the materials we have in class. Once again we are very thankful. We are currently getting ready for our exit project. Students will include primary sources such as pictures, journal entries and so on to teach other students about a certain topic. They will make sure to have creative projects that can catch their classmates and parents attention when presenting.

We are so thrilled that there are people out there who understand the needs of students!”

  • An Organized Classroom

    Funded Feb 16, 2015

Our materials have arrived! Those boxes filled our hearts with joy. We are so happy. We feel that there are people who care and understand the needs of a classroom.

We opened them quickly and worked together to assemble them for immediate use in the classroom. We no longer have to use a student's desk as a table for our projector and computer. We are so excited. We have all our dry erase markers in organized magnetic plastic boxes on the board. Our laminator is amazing. We can't wait to create and laminate colorful and useful graphic organizers, cheat sheets for concepts learned in class, and images relevant to lessons learned. The plastic organizers with wheels will make our life so easy. We feel so great that we can have all our materials in a safe and organized place!

I sincerely can not explain how my daily routine has improved. I used to spend about 10 minutes setting up the projector, laptop and the extension chord out of a closet. Another 10 minutes were spent disconnecting everything and saving them in the same closet. Now I just have to open the closet and a beautiful chrome rolling cart is ready to be pulled out and plugged in front of the classroom. It takes me one minute to roll the cart out and plug the extension and another minute to unplug and roll the cart into the closet. I can spend more time planning the actual lesson rather than organizing, plugging and unplugging wires.

I have no words to express my gratitude. You showed us interest in donating to our project and even going back and donating again when we were so near the end with little hope to achieve our goal. You are the best! You have changed the life of our future professionals.

    Full of Gratitude,

Y.Mendez and her 6th grade class.”

  • Materials are a Basic Need to Learn!!!

    Funded Dec 13, 2013

We are so thankful. My students are so happy to see that we have the materials needed to keep our classroom organized. This experience have made them be more connected to the activities we do in class. They are eager to learn and curious about our upcoming activities. Our colorful paper, scissors, bins, and other materials will make this year a great experience. We are currently working on common core tasks. We are now completing a fun and challenging project called "Theme Park Tycoon" where students have to demonstrate their understanding about algebraic expressions by becoming the park's manager. Students are then going to complete an amazing bulletin board full of color and decorations using part of the donated materials.

People like you make education a fun and unforgettable experience.”

  • Ms. M., We Can Almost Say We Are A Tech Class

    Funded Feb 8, 2013

Knowing that there are people out there who understand the needs of our students is a blessing. Thanks to your donations we have achieved our goal of obtaining a laptop before the State test. This laptop will assist us to learn the concepts clearly and to understand how math is used in everyday life. We can say that DonorsChoose.org is a very important part of our classroom since thanks to it, classrooms in need can be connected with people who are willing to help like you. This great experience has given me more energy to continue teaching and become even more creative.

Once again, there are no words to express our happiness. We are very thankful and understand that you will receive great blessings for your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mendez

I teach 6-8 grade Math to English Language Learners in a public school in a high need area of New York. Many of my students do not speak English who need support and scaffolding in order to take advantage of our daily lessons. These students have the challenge of not only having to learn a new language, adjust to a new culture and country, but also learn content and prepare for the State Exam. Many of these students are considered Students with Interrupted Former Education (SIFE). Many have never experienced the opportunity to learn with technology aids in the classroom. With your help, we will accomplish our goal, to become a High Tech Class!!
