I will create 4 exemplar Social Emotion Learning (SEL) reflective calming zones. The sensory toys will be placed in a sensory box so students can choose the calming tool they want to utilize. The stuffed animal will be used as a tool to comfort students who are sad, or anxious. Each calming station will have reflective assignments and calming tools to help student self regulate their thoughts, feelings, and range of emotions. These zones will allow students who need to self regulate a safe place to do so. These spaces will allow students to reflect on their behavior and reflect on their decisions and/or next steps. These calming zones are important because they give students the space to practice the skills taught in small groups, guidance lessons, and in SEL education taught in the classroom.
