Calming Area
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you for your donations to our calming area. As a resource classroom that serves students in grades TK-3rd, the calming area serves both as a de-escalation area where students are learning to manage their feelings through healthy outlets and also as a area for a brain break zone. My students are not only using our RSP classroom as a place to work on their individual goals and receive support in academic areas but many are working on developing a growth mindset while learning to identify their feelings and manage their emotions when faced with obstacles. Your donations contribute to providing an area and tools where they feel safe, comfortable and able to share and navigate through their emotions. Students are also using the area as an incentive to complete work when feeling unmotivated. Many have been able to develop a growth mindset when faced with an assignment that seems overwheleming and they are working hard to solve those difficult tasks and feel successful! They often seek a brain break as a way to balance hard work with a balance of reward for working through a tough task and realizing they CAN complete "hard" tasks! We truly tank you for your kindness and donations....”

Funded Aug 18, 2022Thank you for your donation towards classroom rugs! It is amazing just how much the rugs in the calming area, library and the center of the room have supported learning in our classroom! The use of rugs in the classroom have allowed for flexible seating, group learning, comfort in our calming area where students have been able to de-escalate emotions and a moment of calm as students read in our library where they can sit and read next to our classroom pet! Thank you for the impact you have made in our classroom and the learning of my students. Everyday they work towards their goals and your support is truly appreciated!”

The materials have allowed my RSP students to have lessons full of color, materials that facilitate learning such as reading strips, post-it paper for anchor charts, laminated materials for review games and so much more!
My students look forward to many of the review games we do that are possible by your donation. The incentive stickers are always something my students look forward to and work hard to earn! We have completed many themed lessons thanks to your donations!

Funded Jul 25, 2022Thank you for generous donations to our classroom! The fund 2,4,6,8 Help me Differentiate! was created because as a RSP teacher my students need for me to step out of the box and often find creative and differentiated lessons to help them meet their personal goals. The funds for TPT resources allowed for me to research different lesson approaches and tools created by educators and review the feedback from others in order to see whether it would benefit my students. Let me tell you, their resources have been amazing in our class! One example was finding a unique approach for writing, in order to create a fun project where my students could learn about informational text and how to read it, understand it and write about it TPT allowed me to find tools on how to teach not only those lessons but also phonics when reading about fish, differentiated readings for informational text and writing prompts and even differentiated math tools that allowed my students to practice their skills with a common theme of fish. We did this for a few weeks where my students grades K-3 wrote, read, completed math tasks at their independent levels and as a class reward were able to earn a pet fish! Spongy is now our class fish. The class fish has allowed my RSP students to build a sense of community with other students who are not in RSP but can visit their class during recess to see the fish. Seeing my students take pride in the fish they earned and talk about it with their classmates in general education is truly heartwarming. Inclusion, and a sense of community all start to unfold through such projects, and we have you to thank for this opportunity! The TPT resources allowed for me to pull lesson ideas that were differentiated for the needs of each of my students and allow them to work towards a common goal, ultimately feeling accomplished and working as a team across grade levels to earn a class pet! Thank you for believing in our class and providing us with the opportunity to use TPT resources! Your donation allowed my students to be provided with lessons that allowed for their abilities to continue to blossom through creative and collaborative lessons!”
