Thank you for your generosity in helping us end the school year on the right foot. We hope to use these items for a variety of projects that are coming up. Our class gets to do some really amazing activities, all thanks to amazing donors like yourselves. Thank you for continuing to believe in the work we do.”

  • Snacks for After School Programs

    Funded Dec 9, 2024

Thank you for your continued support of our campus and the after school clubs that we provide for our students. The end of the day is a fun time for us to try new skills. Girl Talk and Boys Club is a great opportunity for our students to get to know one another outside the classroom setting, but their bellies needed just a little more to push through to the extended end of the day. Your generosity really helped bridge the gap between our ability to provide another club after school and sending our kiddos home hungry at the end of the day. Your generosity does not go unnoticed, we appreciate all the snacks you have gifted us with. About 50 students go home every Thursday with happy full tummies. All because of your support.”

Thank you so much for your generous donation of a class set of "Tuck Everlasting" chapter books and teaching guides! This remarkable story will deeply impact our classroom by sparking meaningful discussions about life, death, and the choices we make. The themes of immortality and the value of time will encourage our students to reflect on their own lives and relationships. With the teaching guides, we can create engaging activities that promote critical thinking and personal connection to the material. Your support truly enriches our learning environment, and we are incredibly grateful!”

  • Charlotte´s Web Book Study

    Funded May 30, 2024

Thank you for helping us get a class set of Charlotte's Web books for my students and I to read together. This text is one of the most transformational of my childhood, and I just love sharing it with my students. I had previously borrowed a class set from a teacher on another campus, but she has since moved away. So having my very own class set, that I can share with others here on my campus is such a blessing. The activities that we do on Charlotte's Web Day are such a great opportunity to connect literature with the arts, as you can see from the pictures that I shared. Thank you for continuing to believe in our mission to inspire great readers on our campus.”

  • Frindle Book Study

    Funded May 30, 2024

My students cannot wait to read Frindle this year. Another teacher read this with her class, and reported back to my kids that they really liked the story. We have so many new chapter books, I've put together a schedule for when we will finish reading one new book and move on to the next. As of now the plan is that Frindle is our next book we will read. Thank you for your generosity and supporting my students. I cannot tell you enough how much it means to have donors like you who support all that we do on my campus.”

  • Country Research Project Resources

    Funded May 16, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity in getting us additional Country Research Project books. I have done this country research project before, but several of the countries we were researching only had one book in my library. Luckily we were able to find MANY more on Amazon. They really do have EVERYTHING! The kids are so excited to learn about the diversity of our world through these texts. The non-fiction aspect of learning through appropriate texts is powerful for my students. I'm so grateful that you have chosen to support our project.”

  • Lemonade War Book Study

    Funded May 30, 2024

This was such a sweet surprise to have the "Lemonade War" books sent to our classroom. One of my teacher friends saw that I had gotten LOTS of chapter books through DonorsChoose and asked to borrow "Lemonade War" to read with her fifth grade class. They just finished it earlier this week, and had a lemonade party to celebrate. It is due to your generosity that our students are getting to have real life experiences like making lemonade and celebrating finishing a new chapter book in the series. Thank you so much for your support of my class, it has had the unintended effect of supporting another class on our campus as well. Thank you for your support!”

My students are 1st graders and they love to read. These kids come from families where education is highly valued. As a teacher in this area, I realize that many times the experiences in my classroom will be life changing for some of my students. Therefore I try to assure that my class is both engaging and fun, relevant and realistic in an effort to show my students that learning never stops.
