Creating Independent Learners in Organized Environments
Funded Dec 26, 2023Through your kind donations, I have been able to create what has been the most useful thing in our math time. Through the use of the plastic storage boxes, I was able to set up a Math Toolbox for each and every student. This was a game changer in my classroom since this reduces transition time and gives students direct access to manipulatives based on need. This is great since some of my students sometimes need the manipulatives for certain tasks while others do not. By having a Math toolbox for each student, the students can easily take and use them based on their own needs, leading to self-awareness and more independent learners.
The eight-drawer rolling cart allowed me to better organize assignments for the students and all the copies they needed to have access to. The students now know that if they lose homework or need an extra copy of a worksheet or even an early finisher, the students know they can find it all in the cart. I have created some cart labels that make it easier to identify. Through your kind donation, my students have been able to access more manipulatives in an orderly fashion.”

Math Toolboxes
Funded Feb 14, 2024Through your donation, my students can seamlessly move into our math portion of the day. Through the implementation of the "math toolboxes," the students have access to the manipulatives they may need at hand and can use them to aid them with their work at their own needs. The math toolboxes help with the students as a form of accommodation that is available as they may need it. The math toolboxes in the classroom help the students gain confidence with their manipulation and understanding of numbers which allows them to build confidence.”

Funded Feb 28, 2024I have maintained a clean classroom for my students through your generous donation. I have been able to let my students understand that learning messes will occur and are okay with making messes since they know that we have the tools necessary to clean them up, which leads to open opportunities for more hands-on and creative exploration. Through a clean classroom, the students are less exposed to germs which helps in the rise of attendance while also aiding in creating a soothing and safe environment.”

Building the Love for Reading
Funded Sep 20, 2023I wanted to thank you for all your support in building our love for reading. Through your support, I could incorporate my students' favorite genres and characters, which has motivated them to learn to read. Through the books we have received, I have incorporated independent reading and allowed my students to feel seen with the variety of books available. It has been incredible to see the intrinsic motivation to want to read and write when it is about their favorite characters. Ever since these new additions to the classroom library, the students come up to me and ask, "What does it say?" "Can you help me sound it out?" with this, they have seen their own progress as some of my students have noticed that they can now begin to read the book that maybe a few weeks ago they couldn't.”

Funded Aug 23, 2023My class and I thank you for your donations. Thanks to your contributions, my students can enjoy learning in a safe and clean environment where they feel safe and peace of mind when it comes to learning. With the project, I have provided the students with a clean and sanitized classroom. The students have also learned the importance of clean and safe environments through the completion of this project.
With the funding of this project, the students have learned about being more responsible with their environment and the benefits of keeping the classroom clean. As a teacher, I have been able to model what keeping the classroom looks like, and with the supplies needed to do this being available, the students have gained an initiative where they are not afraid to make "learning messes" since they know they can be cleaned up. Without the fear of making messes, the students have become independent and have learned to clean up after themselves and maintain their areas clean.”
