  • Graphic Novels, Great Minds: Inspiring Young Readers Through Visual Storytelling

    Funded Feb 28, 2025

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation of graphic novels to our classroom! The moment our students saw the books, their faces lit up with excitement. They eagerly flipped through the pages, unable to put them down, even when it wasn't reading time! Your kindness has created a reading buzz in our classroom, sparking enthusiasm and motivation like never before.

Thanks to your generosity, our students are more engaged in reading. These graphic novels provide not only entertainment but also an accessible and enjoyable way to develop literacy skills. Seeing students so immersed in bookshas been truly inspiring. Your support has made a lasting impact, and I am so grateful!”

  • Wanted! High Interest Books!

    Funded Jun 20, 2023

Thank you for your generous donation. My students were amazed at all of the books that our classroom received. They began to read them as soon as the box was opened. One of the students even asked if we could read the books in guided groups. I, naturally, said "of course!"

There are many things that I am using these graphic novels for, one of them being book clubs. My students are all reading on different levels, but the pictures support from these books truly aid in the comprehension of the text that is being read. And since the books have less words on a page, our students are feeling confident as they read. They are even making inferences, something which was difficult before this.

These graphic novels are really making an impact in my class, especially because our kids are interested in reading them.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Schneider

  • Let's Get Our Room Ready for the Fall!

    Funded Jul 2, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation of the beautiful classroom decorations. Our room looks magnificent! Everyone who walks in compliments it and says how peaceful and beautiful it looks. Our classroom theme is a garden, where young minds are seeds. Our job as educators is to nurture these young minds so that they can bloom, just like a seed does. Our students love the look of the class and our philosophy. They come in ready to learn each day! I would like to thank you again for your generosity.”

  • Virtual Guided Readers Needed

    Funded Jan 26, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for allowing my class to access the Guided Readers website. Our class is fully remote this year and doing guided reading was a challenge until we discovered Guided Readers. We break our students into groups and are able to display the book for students to see and read. The best part is that they can access these books on their own and complete interactive activities using these books. Student also record themselves reading books, which is helpful to improve their fluency. Their reading has improved since we began using this program. Thank so much for this opportunity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Schneider

  • Let's Celebrate!

    Funded Jul 26, 2020

Thank you for your kind and generous donation of books to my classroom. Our classroom library will now have books on different holidays as well as the different ways that cultures around the world celebrate them. I believe that these books will open up the eyes of our students as they learn about people from all around the world. They will also be able to identify similarities and differences between themselves and others around the world as they make connections. These books will be used in both school and during virtual learning time.

Thank you again for making this happen!”

  • Let's Start This School Year Off Right!

    Funded Jul 23, 2020

Thank you so much for your kind and extremely generous donation. The materials will definitely help my students begin the school year off on the right step! Many of our families have been struggling since the pandemic hit, so having school supplies readily available for them will definitely help. I am going to create bags of materials that my students can use both when they are at home and in school. These bags will contain the materials that you donated for us: notebooks, markers, pencils, headphones, and books to read (I will be making copies of these so that students can bring home to read), to name a few. I would like to thank you again for making this all possible.”

  • Help Us Use Technology To Spark Interest In Reading!

    Funded Aug 9, 2020

Thank you so much for helping get us started with Reading Eggs! This program is helping get our students, those learning in-person at school and those learning remotely at home, engaged in reading. Our students love the program and think it's a game. They don't even know that they are learning new reading skills and reinforcing those that we learned at school. This was an incredible opportunity for our students, especially now, when most classes are being taught online. Thank you again for helping to get our kids reading with Reading Eggs!”

  • Needed: Beanbags For a Reading Corner!

    Funded Aug 15, 2019

Thanks so much for your kind and generous donation. Our class LOVES the bean bags that you gave. It makes our library welcoming and cozy. The bean bags give our students a quiet place to read and do work, as well as a space where students go to give themselves a bit of a break when needed.

Our students were excited when they three huge boxes being delivered into our classroom. We slowly opened each box and our students were amazed at what was inside. Each student immediately wanted to read on those bean bags!

I know these bean bags will be used for years to come!”

  • Wanted! Desperately Needed Books!

    Funded Jul 18, 2017

Thanks so much for your donation. My classroom now has a library! My students are finally excited to read, because they now have high interest books on their reading level.

It's amazing how excited my students were when they saw their new classroom library. Many asked me if they could start reading and even borrow the books to finish reading at home, which of course they are doing.

I am using the donated books for read aloud and guided reading time. Guided reading is a time when I meet with small groups of students and work on a comprehension or fluency skill specific to the need of the group. Right now my kindergarteners are reading the basic readers, my second graders are working with the Cam Jansen mysteries, and my fourth graders are reading the Geronimo Stilton series.

Without your generous donation, none of this would've been possible. Thanks so much!”
