CASA's Second Annual Cinco De Mayo Celebration!
Funded Apr 19, 2024Thank you so much for your contributions! My students and staff truly enjoyed the Cinco de Mayo celebration! From hitting the piñata to eating delicious cultured Mexican food that staff cooked or brought in. Every year we have done this celebration it is amazing to see our CASA students enjoy the festivities while listening to Spanish music. I hope this years turns out to be as fun as the previous one. Let's see what new donors want to make this annual celebration happen. I cannot wait for 2025's celebration, it will be our 3rd annual fiesta!”

Empowering Through Elegance: Tea Party Celebrating Women!
Funded May 16, 2024Thanks to all your gracious donations, we were able to host an amazing Women's Tea Party in celebration of Women's History Month. All resources like the decorations, eating utensils, banners, urns, etc were used to create a lively and warm atmosphere in our schools library for students to enjoy. We emulated what a true dedicated platform should resemble for our female guest speakers and all those who contributed their stories. Our guests loved the floral theme decorations and wanted pictures under our banner that said "Let's Par-tea"!
Our students were excited to sit down and enjoy what the guest speakers had to share, they enjoyed the tea-party themed plates, cups, photo backdrop, balloons, garlands and center pieces.
I hope to use DonorsChoose very soon for my Latin American class where students will engage in many project based learning assignments and of course, for my schools annual Cinco de Mayo celebration that I spearhead every year!”

Funded Apr 27, 2023When I created this Cinco De Mayo celebration for my students, I had no idea it would have this big of a turnout. Last school year was my third year teaching and my first year at my new school location. It was definitely a courageous move on my end to curate a big cultural event like this one knowing there is a HUGE Hispanic & Latinx population at my school— but I moved forward with the utmost pride and joy.
Thinking back to that day, the smiles on my students face when they saw the array of food, treats, and piñata I couldn't be happier that I helped give them a piece of home & culture.”
