  • The Gift of Books!

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Though last year was a year full of twists, turns, and surprises, we were able to spread the idea of self-love and care through these books. We thank you for donating to provide our diverse students with books that speak about features, experiences, and stories that they can identify with., When I see my students come to the library, they are excited to pick up a new book and read through it. We are able to go over similarities that they see in the characters that they can relate to themselves and their experiences, and that is priceless! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Learning the Value of a Dollar!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you for bringing the gift of learning how to spend money and gifts to my students this holiday! Without you, a lot of students would be without the wonderful experience of shopping for their fellow students and putting thought into the amount of money that they would need to get what they want. I was able to put together a little store and give each student 100 dollars. They were able to buy, exchange, return and we wrapped each gift and handed them out before the holidays. Thank you once again!”

  • Diverse Books Are a Basic Need

    Funded Dec 31, 2021

Thank you for donating to this project. With the sudden and heart breaking news of the passing of Bell Hooks, I wanted to use it as an opportunity to give my students the opportunity to learn about diverse authors and read different stories. Hopefully we are able to introduce books from dynamic authors of all different races! Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Bringing Warmth To Our Students

    Funded Jan 14, 2021

I cant thank you enough for your donations of socks, masks, hats, trinkets, etc! Due to the pandemic, there were a lot of days in between receiving supplies that our school had to shut down, but we were still able to create care packages for our children. We are even handing out supplies to incoming students who don't have gloves, socks, hats etc. Recently, during a rainstorm, I had one child come in with Uggs that were soaking wet. We were able to put him in new socks until his shoes dried to make sure he was comfortable. These moments wouldn't be possible without you.

    Thank you!”

  • Lets Learn about Wildlife through Pictures!

    Funded Feb 25, 2021

The Arts have always been a great part in keeping students well rounded. Thank you for providing us with these cameras to be able to expose our students to new hobbies. Hopefully, when it gets warmer outside, the children will be able to engage in photography projects of the wonderful wildlife in their neighborhoods.”

  • Tech Supplies for Community Projects!

    Funded Oct 8, 2020

During this time of remote learning, it has been difficult to equip each child with technology to assist them with their learning. Everyone in our school community should have access to technology in order to receive a fair and appropriate education. With the donations to this project, we are easing the burden on some of these students. We are able to share the technology during school hours to ensure that students know how to get to their school work while waiting to receive technology of their own.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Ink & Paper Supplies

    Funded Dec 28, 2020

Thank you very much for assisting us with obtaining ink, paper and other supplies to assist with helping our students learn. It has been very difficult to obtain resources during these times so this donation is much appreciated and will be put to great use.

    I cannot thank you enough!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

  • Books For Community Building!

    Funded Dec 2, 2020

I cannot thank you enough for bringing diversity to our schools through books. When the students read books with characters who look like them, they get so excited and immediately feel represented.

In these books, the characters are speaking about how much they love their features and speaking about self-love. I immediately see the children pointing to their features and relating to the characters.

Thank you so much for bringing this warmth into the classroom and spreading love during this hard season!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Austin

Our project is asking for necessary office supplies to use to make my new office welcoming to our students. We have included items such as snack bars, and water. Many of the students come to school late because they are coming from housing far away from the school. These bars and waters can be available when the students are in my office with me. Also included is a 3-tier organizer to keep the snacks and office papers in. Also included is a desk chair, organizational desk supplies such as a stapler, organizational desk equipment, and a welcome sign to properly welcome the students and their families to this safe space.
