Our school is a small New York City Public High School (435 students) that was established in 2014 and is located in a Queens. Half of our students are native-Chinese speakers learning English as a new language, and half are English-speakers learning Chinese as a foreign language throughout all four years of high school. We are a committed caring community of learners, with the emphasis on supporting all students to succeed. My students work together to discuss and explore math concepts. One way that they overcome language difficulties and various levels of mathematical proficiency is by using computers to have an additional tool to learn/visualize the concepts. I challenge them with high expectations and they push themselves to do their very best to conquer the demanding curriculum.
