  • A Magical Novel Study and Room Makeover

    Thank you for investing in my class. The last few weeks of school are chaotic and riddled with state tests, end of year exams, field days, and field trips. They can be a mess, but my room isn't. Teachers and administrators walk into my room and are amazed at the students who are quietly engaged and focused on the books and activities.

    I have short activities, character analysis projects, or games that go with the chapters. Just today, the kids got sorted into their own houses right along with Harry and friends. It may or may not have devolved into a Gryffindor huddle stumbling around the room, but I digress. The engagement is there, the oohs and ahhs and they walked through Platform 9 3/4 for the first time were music to my ears.

    The best part is watching the kids slowly making connections with their surroundings. You literally see them connecting the dots as we read and they look across the room at the house flags or a white owl, and that is all thanks to you. We appreciate your donation and making the last couple weeks of our school year truly magical.”

We are so excited to recently become one to one technology in my room. Through a combination of tablets, desktops, and laptops we all have access to technology at the same time. This is awesome for my students, many of whom battle dyslexia, learning the English language, and ADHD. This has changed the game for me as a teacher, but it has come with some challenges. We do not have enough headphones for the students in the room to use our technology to its fullest capability. I promise, hearing 21 pieces of technology talking at the same time is enough to drive any one crazy! Please help my students regain some independence and focus with our newly modernized classroom!
