My school's district spans the populations of New York City: students who live in public housing to students who live on Park Avenue; students whose parents are building supers and students whose parents are consuls at the UN; students who are learning English as their second or third language and students with disabilities. They come from every nationality and ethnicity, from Colombia to Malta to Korea to Afghanistan. Together in my classroom, they're one strong, amazing community. Our goal is to learn from each other and grow together. Success in our classroom is building independence, reflectiveness, flexibility, mutual respect, and a joy in discovering together!
