  • Supplies For Success

    Funded Nov 4, 2017

Your donations have a profound impact on my classroom and my teaching each and every day. My students love to use the mini white board erasers while we are using dry erase boards for math. The paper organizers are proudly hanging in my closets to store paper for upcoming activities in order to keep the classroom less cluttered. I am able to laminate vocabulary cards so that they can last all year long. The Astrobrights paper make everything we print more exciting! A Bike Like Sergio's has become a classroom favorite read-aloud. Thank you again for your continued support of public education.”

    With gratitude,

  • Reading for Fun: Building Our Classroom Library

    Funded Oct 15, 2017

Your donations have completely changed my classroom environment, especially during Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop. Students now have tons more books to choose from our classroom library, and they are so eager when it is their scheduled day each week to book shop! We are currently in a non-fiction unit in both Reading Workshop and Writing Workshop, so the students look forward to reading about texts on topics they want to learn more about, such as dinosaurs, animals, and helping our planet. Before your donations, our non-fiction library was scare - but now, there are more than enough books to go around! Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity. I greatly appreciate it, and I know my students do, too.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reda

  • Listen Up! From Audiobooks to Amazing Readers

    Funded Jul 29, 2017

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations to my classroom. Because of you, my second grade students can hear their favorite stories brought to life through audiobooks. Struggling readers are able to hear stories and follow along in their books. Many students are able to listen to audiobooks at the same time during our literacy center rotations on a daily basis. My students also love to listen to an audiobook and then draw the movie they see in their mind as their read. The audiobooks, Walkman CD players, and exciting books for our library were amazing additions to our classroom!”

  • Our Vision Is Clear! We Need New Glasses!

    Funded Apr 25, 2017

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donations. Because of your generosity, all of my students were able to have their vision checked by an optometrist - most for the first time in years - and were able to choose glasses free of charge to their families. Students were so excited to see the numerous glasses choices available to them, from metal and plastic frames in every color imaginable. They loved to try on the frames and ask their friends and teachers what they thought before choosing the ones they loved best. The prescription glasses arrived a few days later, and students were so eager for me to open the box and distribute them. My students are very lucky to have finished the school year being able to see clearly.”

  • Materials for Marvelous Mathematicians!

    Funded Sep 16, 2016

My students and I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation to our classroom. I will never forget the looks on my students' faces when I brought all the boxes filled with new learning materials into our classroom. They are so aware that there are people like you, who they will never have the opportunity to meet, who love them and want them to succeed in their learning. Each day while I watch my student learn using these materials, I am reminded of your support and I am filled with gratitude. Without this marvelous donation, it would be much more difficult to provide my students with such fun and enriching learning experiences.

Students are now able to work in small groups at centers to perform math tasks using the exciting and engaging manipulatives and activities. We are able to build our classroom community as we all play Math Bingo together. Using the Write & Wipe pockets over and over again saves me time in planning lessons and cuts down the paper use in our school. The privacy partitions have helped us to work independently without being distracted by those around us at our seats. The magnetic math manipulatives have been excellent visuals for my students during lessons on the whiteboard before they go off to work on their own.

Because of your donation, you have helped to provide countless hands-on experiences and fun learning opportunities for deserving students. And even more special - I'm able to share these materials across grade levels, reaching over 300 students at our school. Even my most struggling students will ask each morning, "What are we learning in math today?" because you have helped to make math something my fourth graders look forward to each and every day.”

    With gratitude,

  • Literacy Materials

    Funded Jul 27, 2015

My students and I cannot thank you enough for your kind donation to our classroom. When my students first saw the beanbag and other learning materials in our classroom, they could not contain their excitement. They cheered, jumped up and down, and all wanted to sit on the beanbag. Each day when I enter my classroom, with and without my students, I am reminded of your love and support and I am filled with gratitude. Without this incredible donation, I do not think I would be able to successfully teach and learn alongside all 21 of my students.

The beanbag gives us an extra space to sit. Teaching in a classroom where students have many different needs, it's important to give them choices on where they would like to sit. Now, with the beanbag, they have an additional option. It allows them a place to lay down and take a break, a place to be comfortable, and a place to join us as we learn.

Before your generous donation, my students either had to sit on the rug or at their chair. This made learning uncomfortable, boring, and undesirable for some students. Now, those students who need to sit on the bean bag are able to do so. They also constantly ask me if they can complete their work on the beanbag, read on the beanbag, and work with their group or partner on the beanbag. You have helped me teach my students who come from unfortunate circumstances that there are good people in this world and also what it means to donate to others. You have turned my classroom into a magical place where students want to come and learn, and I can not thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reda

  • Join Me on the Rug!

    Funded Aug 23, 2014

My students and I cannot thank you enough for your kind donation to our classroom. When my students first saw the rug in our classroom, they could not contain their excitement. They cheered, jumped up and down, rolled around on our beautiful, colorful rug. "Finally, a place where we can all sit down together!" "We all have our own square!" Each day when I enter my classroom, with and without my students, I am reminded of your love and support and I am filled with gratitude. Without this incredible donation, I do not think I would be able to successfully teach and learn alongside all 28 of my students.

I call my students to meet me on the rug each day during reading, writing, math, social studies, and class meetings. What is so special about this time together is that we all get to share in talk and discussion while having our own special space. We are not squished or sitting on top of each other. We do not struggle to look at the person who is sharing in the discussion. We simply turn to look where we need to while having the luxury of our own personal space. How awesome is that?! This could not be said of the much smaller rug we had previously, nor would we be able to do this on the hard, uncomfortable tile floor. Along with giving each student a space to call their own, this massive rug also gives our first grade class a space to meet together. Students sit at separate tables of 4 or 5 kids during independent work, but we are all able to come together on our spacious rug as a community of learners.

Before your generous donation, my students were forced to sit very close together on a rough, dull, brown rug. This made learning uncomfortable, boring, and undesirable for students. Now, students are eager to come to our bright and colorful rug to learn. They also constantly ask me if they can complete their work on the rug, read on the rug, and work with their group or partner on the rug. You have helped me teach my students who come from unfortunate circumstances that there are good people in this world and also what it means to donate to others. You have turned my classroom into a magical place where students want to come and learn, and I can not thank you enough.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reda

Students come from a wide range of cultures and families. In our classroom, we are one big family, and we are part of a larger school community. I want my students to realize the importance of learning in their everyday lives - both in and out of the classroom.
