Comfortable Science!
Funded Sep 21, 2022Thank you for donating to Comfortable Science! My class appreciates your generosity. Flexible seating is an important aspect in the classroom. It provides an opportunity for students to feel comfortable and that comfort provides them a greater opportunity for learning. I am especially excited to get the students outside and cozy in their outdoor classrom!”

Funded Nov 10, 2021My students have been overjoyed with their new resources! We were in desperate need of a pencil sharpener for our classroom and now our pencils are as sharp as our minds. We have created some amazing art projects with the variety of markers. My students enjoy following an online video to learn how to draw, or they enjoy my lessons for specific artists. We have learned about Frieda Kahlo, Vincent van Gogh, and Shepard Fairy. It has been an exciting time!
When we first received our packages, my students weren't aware that our project had been funded. I opened the packages in front of them and there were many "oohs and ahhhs"! Their eyes got really big as I pulled out the materials one by one. "When are we going to be able to use those?" they asked and I told them the time was now. We got to creating.
It is donors like you who help make our classrooms even more special. A place for children to create, dream and learn. Thank you so much for your support!”

Funded Jan 13, 2022Thank you so much for helping to fund my classroom project! My students will be so excited to use the new pens, pencil sharpener, laminator and shadow boxes. We can't wait to open up our packages and put our new supplies to great use to increase our leaning. This means the world to us. You are truly the best!”

Funded Nov 29, 2020Thank you so much for your donation to my classroom. This has been an unusual time and my students were lacking tools to help them learn at home. By funding my project, my students were able to have dry erase boards and markers, pencils, and erasers to use at home.
My students and parents were so excited to get these new materials. The children would show off their new supplies on Zoom and were more engaged in their lessons because they were able to show their work! I have never seen such excitement on their faces. One student refused to turn on her camera. When she picked up her supply bag from school she could not wait to get on Zoom with me. She went through her bag and showed me every single item in there! She has been engaged with her camera on, every, single day since then. That is how impactful your donation has been.
Even when we return to in-person learning, my students will still be able to use their materials. They will be able to keep everything at home in order to use for homework or asynchronous work. Thank you for your generosity!”

Power My Learning!
Funded Nov 22, 2019My students, their families and I have all appreciated the resources that Power My Learning has provided us. During the school closures it was important to have resources that the students could access online. This program was perfect for that! I was able to provide the families with online lessons, resources and playlists that they were able to do at home, share the learning with their families, and then tell me about what they have learned over zoom! It's been an excellent opportunity for all of us.
It is because of donors like you that my class is able to fund these wonderful opportunities and resources that they usually wouldn't have access to. We appreciate it so much! You have made this teacher and her students very happy!”

Funded Aug 10, 2019My students are SO excited to be able to have this mixed media art class at our school. The response has been overwhelming! So far, the students have been able to start their work in mixed media and have had fun exploring with the gel plates. They have become inspired by the books and have started to bring their visions to life.
It is because of donors like you that my students get to have this opportunity. We were so fortunate to have our project funded! Thank you for your interest in my classroom and my students. We have minimum funds for extra curricular activities, so the fact that we get to bring art into the class has a huge impact.”

Funded Jan 26, 2018Thank you for your very generous contribution to my classroom. This computer has been a life-saver during instructional time. As a Resource Special Teacher, I work with small groups within the classroom, pulling students out for individual and small-group instruction. By bringing our learning online, I am able to give students the opportunities to work on math programs, like IXL and ST Math, and ELA programs, like LEXIA and Reading Plus, while I am testing students or working individually with a student. I have also used the computer to access instructional videos through YouTube and Netflix to use within my small groups. There is nothing better than providing visual support through online mediums. I'm sure you can imagine how much the kids love this too!
I am so appreciative to Donor's Choose for providing a platform for teachers to request resources for the classroom and I am even more appreciative of Donor's like YOU that give to us! If it weren't for you and your generosity, my students would not be able to access their learning online and become true 21st Century Learners! You are the BEST!!”

Funded Dec 28, 2017Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. My students love the privacy cube for our classroom Peace Corner. The privacy cube has become an important resource within the room. The students, when needing a moment to calm themselves, will grab a book, a toy, or a pillow, get into the privacy cube and be able to regulate themselves and be ready to join the class.
When they first saw the new privacy cube, they immediately asked, "What IS THAT??" I explained what it was and what it was for. I think that first day I had to set a timer so that everyone got a chance to see what was inside! Since that first day we have really made the cube our own. The students put glow in the dark stars on the ceiling of the cube, and we hung some netting on the outside to give the option of more privacy. When we aren't using the cube as part of our Peace Corner needs, the students enjoy reading or talking with a friend inside the cube. Surprisingly, we've been able to fit 3 students in there!
I'm so grateful to wonderful donors, like you, that contribute to our classrooms. My students live in a low income area and we are unable to get a lot of funding for my students socio-emotional needs, so thank you for seeing our vision and making it happen. You are truly the best!!”

Wiggle While You Work!
Funded Aug 31, 2017My students are so appreciate of the donation of the Bouncy Bands. We have been able to use the bands on all the chairs in the RSP room, therefore allowing access to all the students! For the students that really need the movement, we were able to have those students also have a band in their general education classroom. We were so lucky to get enough of the bands that it has made an impact throughout our school!
When the bands first arrived the students looked were confused. They had never seen Bouncy Bands before. When we put them on the chairs, and they tried them out, the reactions were really cute and funny. I heard, "Wow! It's like a hammock for your feet!" "This is so cool! My feet have something to do while I'm learning!" "Ms. Kline, am I supposed to put my feet on here? This is so comfortable!"
My students have been using the Bouncy Bands with consistency and I have to say they have really made a difference in the classroom. Their feet are quiet, but more importantly the students are able to learn because they have something to do with that energy that usually preoccupies their learning.
Thank you so much for the donation! We don't know what we would do without your generosity!”

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Comic BOOKS!
Funded Mar 3, 2017Working in a low-income has it's drawbacks, one of them being money for new materials. We are fortunate enough to get our basic needs taken care of, but when it comes to new materials, it's a challenge. Since my classroom is not in a traditional setting, my students are often forgotten about or I am left to take care of their instructional needs myself. This is where Donor's Choose and you come in. I hoped that by posting my project on Donor's Choose I would be able to get my Resource Students high interest materials reading material that would pique their educational interests, while supporting their instructional needs. The comic books that I was able to acquire from your generosity did just that! My students are beyond thrilled with their new comic books!
In the months since we have received the comic books, we have all had a chance to explore them all. My 5th grade students love the "cool" factor of the comics, while the third and fourth grade students like to look at the pictures to help them make better sense of the text. From my highest readers to my lowest, the comic books are able to fit their instructional needs. The pictures support comprehension while the high interest level makes the kids want to read them.
Thank you for making my students' days a little brighter, a little smarter, and a lot more fun. They feel so special to have a friend who supports them and our classroom.”

Mrs. Kline-Mayeda
