  • Cozy Carpet for First Grade

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. We absolutely love our classroom rug. We have been using it for so many parts of our day - for story time, mini lessons, independent reading, math practice, and much more! We also love to use our rug to get to know one another through different social-emotional activities! Our students love to spend time on the rug during our many lessons throughout the day. Thank you for thinking of us this year and for bringing this invaluable project to life! We are thankful for generous donors like yourself.”

    With gratitude,

  • Book Clubs for First Graders!

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for your very generous donations! Our students were so excited when the books came in. We've gotten started on our Book Clubs; we have morning and afternoon rotations. We are all learning so much and best of all, we are all having so much fun!

Our students are very quickly picking up on invaluable phonics and comprehension skills. So far, our favorite book has been Amelia bedelia. We look forward to getting to use these books for the rest of year and for years to come with our future students. Thank you!”

  • Cubbies for Community Service!

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to our cubbies project! We have been using them everyday to store our classroom materials. With the help of these storage benches, we have also been able to store all of the tools and materials for these different projects. Our students are learning the importance of giving back to our community, as well as staying organized. We've been able to go on community walks, visit local shops, and clean up our school community and neighborhood! Thank you so much for your vested interest in our class.”

  • Financial Literacy Fun!

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

Thank you for all of your generous donations! Unfortunately after funding, the table that we had anticipated obtaining was sold out. So as we do every day in teaching things deter our plan, we pivoted and got new materials.

We received various classroom materials that help us get through the day on a daily basis. We also re-requested tie dye to help us tie dye T-Shirts for a How To book. We got extra snacks for our classroom pantry. Best of all, we received new guided reading books that our students absolutely love! None of this would've been possible without your help!”

  • Financial Literacy Center!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you so much for your helping fund our financial literacy center! Our students have been loving the center activities that we can use now. Each Friday during centers, we break out the cash register and watch our students play grocery store. Watching them handle money is rewarding because it's instilling important life skills that will carry them throughout life. The games that we obtained are teaching our students the importance of budgeting, saving, and earning money. We are so appreciative to all of the generous donors who helped bring this project to life!”

  • Book Clubs for First Grade

    Funded Apr 25, 2022

Thank you for bringing our book clubs to life! Our students are absolutely loving that they have the opportunity to work together in groups discussing new books with diverse characters. The books we received are perfect for their reading levels; they are able to make connections between themselves and the characters, retell the story, and discuss important events in the story.

Additionally, the books have allowed them to participate in collaborative discussions about a text, ask questions, and build their overall comprehension while reading together!

    Thank you!”

Our students absolutely love going to the printer to get our goodies when they print! I teach a group of amazing, curious, and hardworking general and special education students in the first grade. My students have a range of disabilities, some of which include learning disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional disturbances, speech and language impairments, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Like any other class, my students' abilities and interests range across a wide spectrum. All of my students require individual or small group attention; each day, I incorporate all of their learning styles, interests, and special education accommodations into our lessons. Some of my students prefer visual or auditory cues for learning, while some require a more kinesthetic or tactile approach. My students come into our classroom each day with a love of school and a desire to grow as a learner.
