Help Us Grow Into Remarkable Readers! Part 2
Funded Apr 8, 2023Thank you for supporting my students and I! Guided reading is my favorite time of day and I am SO excited to read these new books that I know my students will love! This is part two of a project that was recently funded for books in this series, and the books are a big hit! I'm looking forward to exploring these books alongside my students as their love of reading grows. Reading allows kids the opportunity to explore outside their world and thanks to you we have more adventures ahead!”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose Community and 6 other donors.Help Us Rock With Chair Socks!
Funded Jan 6, 2020I was so happy to be able to provide chair socks and give my students a quiet learning environment! My students were in need of chair socks for quiet transitions during our rotations. These were helpful in supporting one of my students who has hearing loss in one ear, as well as many other students with sensory challenges.
This easy chair modification helped keep students focused, eliminated the screeching of chairs and most importantly, kept all students learning.
It it because of caring people like you that I am able to provide resources to my students that they would otherwise not have access too. Thank you again, for helping them on their way to success!”

Help Grade 2 Fight the Flu!
Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you for your generosity towards my students! The hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes and tissues were helpful in helping students stay healthy.
These supplies continue to help us stay staff during the pandemic now that we are back to in person learning. These supplies are important for my students' attendance, so students don't get sick and miss school. The more days my students are in school, the more they will learn! It's hard to focus on adding and subtracting 3-digit numbers when you don't feel well!
It it because of caring people like you that I am able to provide resources to my students that they would otherwise not have access too. Thank you again, for helping us have a clean and germ free classroom!”

Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you for your kindness in donating to my students and believing in them! The wireless mice that you donated have greatly impacted my student's learning. Transitions involving our chromebooks and mice are now so much smoother and we have more time for learning! Thanks for this project each of my students now has access to wireless mice during whole class lessons and assessments. In addition, I was able to send a mouse home with each student during remote learning!
The thing my students like most about the wireless mice is that they are small enough to fit their hands, and they make their learning easier. They also like that there are no wires to get in the way of their papers and other work that they are expected to do. The students have started to learn the importance of keeping track of their belongings as well. They have to do this because if they misplace their mouse, they can't just grab another mouse and have it work on their computer. This community of students really appreciate this new technology I was able to expose them to because of your kindness and belief in public education!
It it because of caring people like you that I am able to provide resources to my students that they would otherwise not have access too. Thank you again, for helping them click their way to success!”

Funded Sep 24, 2020This past school year was one that I know we will never forget for a number of reasons. One of those being the kindness shown toward others in need. It was your kindness and generosity that allowed me to provide Logitech - H390 USB Headset with Noise-Canceling Microphone headphones to each of my students learning from home.
Remote learning was not easy, but these headphones removed barriers that prevented students from hearing clearly and made it possible for all students to access their learning equitably.
Thank you for supporting my wonderful second grade students!”

Gaming Our Way Towards Reading
Funded Jun 28, 2019Thank you so much for your donation to our literacy games! These games have been a huge hit in our classroom. They are great for students who need review of first grade skills or extra help with a certain phonics or grammar skill to help them to succeed in the second grade curriculum.
My students LOVE these games and are always so engaged when playing them. Students love that they can play them alone, with a partner, or with a group. The self-checking feature is amazing too!! We are so grateful to have donors like you who care about our achievement and success. Thank you!!!”

Funded Mar 20, 2019Thank you again for your generous donation to my students. My second graders were SO EXCITED when the box was delivered to our classroom! They couldn't believe that there was a new pair of headphones for each and everyone of them to use as their own for the school year.
We were able to begin using them during our math and literacy stations today. They were a huge hit! The students were able to focus on their learning with smiles on their faces. Your donation allowed each student in my class to have his or her own set of headphones, so no more waiting, sharing or doing without! This means that we can use our new iPads (thank you DonorsChoose) and our school Chromebooks far more often, which in turn means much more learning! These headphones allow students to work independently at their own pace, without the sound of their neighbor's device interfering with their work.
It brings me great happiness to be able to provide these headphones to my students to help further their learning. These boys and girls have a great deal of potential and I'm honored to be able to help them on their way!”

Funded Mar 23, 2019Thank you again for your generosity! Your donations provided my students with the Privacy Partitions from Lakeshore Learning which allow for each learner to have a special place where they can stay focused and do their best work! The partitions are extremely helpful providing the appropriate accommodations for my Special Education students when taking assessments! The Storage Rack helps to keep our classroom neat and organized (which is not an easy task with 27 learners!)
Again, I thank you for supporting and believing in Public School Education! We would not be able to do what we do, without the support of our community!”

Let's Get Our Game On!
Funded Feb 11, 2019I can't thank you enough for your generosity! These games have been such a great addition to our indoor recess this school year. Sometimes I think the students hope it will rain or be too cold to go outside just so they could use our new games!
These games have also been great for my emerging bilingual students! They provide great opportunity for them to have relevant conversations with their peers to practice their language skills. These games allow all of my students to practice turn taking, increase their patience and learn to a good sport.
Again, thank you for allowing me to provide these opportunities for my students!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kelleher
