Brita Babies, Sipping Safely
Funded Feb 19, 2025Brita Water Tastes Better: A Song
Tune: The More We Get Together
Our water tastes much better, much better, much better.
Our water tastes much better and safer to drink.
It filters the "bad" stuff, and leaves only "good" stuff.
Brita filters the tap water from our classroom sink.
————————————-
Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting our project for safer drinking water. On a hot day, it's important to keep hydrated. Our Brita water pitcher is conveniently stored in our classroom refrigerator and we no longer have to walk to the library lounge to refill our flasks. Thank you for your ongoing support!
Warmest aloha!!!!”

Ms. Kawaa
Sculpey Clay + Little Hands = Big Ideas
Funded Mar 28, 2025Aloha from Hawaii Nei
Puppy kisses, ice cream, chocolate and cheese
Life is worth living with favorites like these.
Some days are dull or filled with much dread,
When I’d rather stay home, tucked in my bed.
Things will get better, this I should know,
Because clouds part, sun shines, and cool breezes blow.
Listen! A chime, a flash, a whisper in my ear,
Suddenly, in my inbox a message appears.
Mahalo to the donors who made it their mish*
To give from their hearts and fulfill every wish.
Sending warmest aloha from Hawaii nei.
Our project was fully funded yesterday!

BUBBLES: Blow off some STEAM!
Funded Nov 25, 2024Pop! Go the Bubbles.
(Sung to the Tune: Pop Goes the Weasel)
All around the school yard we go
Blowing lots of bubbles
Chasing them is so much fun.
Pop! Go the bubbles.
Up and down, we watch them go
In and out, we gently blow
That's the way the bubbles float
Pop! Go the bubbles.
Pour the water, add the soap
Slowly into the bottle
Mix with powder, gently though
Pop! Giant bubbles.
Up and down, we watch them go
In and out, we gently blow
That's the way the bubbles float
Pop! Go the bubbles.
The liquid measuring kit helps us add just the right amount of water and soap to our solution and the gallon-size container is safe and easy to store extra "bubble juice". The Wowmazing Big Bubble Powder makes beautiful giant glistening orbs. The straws make large pillowy bubbles which stick to the white construction paper in interesting patterns.
Thank you for your help bringing this project to life!
Mahalo nui loa!!”

Ms. Kawaa

Our carpet is so spiffy, so spiffy, so spiffy,
Our carpet is so spiffy, it's vacuumed and neat.

Funded Sep 26, 2024The box arrived with that friendly Amazon smile,
Across the ocean to our tropical isle.
The wall dispenser will help more than you know,
Less to carry and hold, with a student in tow.
Our gloves and wipes were in short supply,
We're restocked from now through next July.
Before you leave preschool, it's essential to know,
The toileting routine when you need to "go".
Feeling shy on the potty, relax and count to ten,
Master this step little tike before Kindergarten.
You're a DonorsChoose donor, with a generous heart,
Giving our youngest learners, a big head start.
We love you, we adore you, dear donor it's true,
Mahalo nui loa from our little learning crew.”

Keeping Track With a New Rack
Funded Sep 26, 2024A large box arrived at our door.
Excitement and anticipation, feelings galore.
We opened it slowly, and very carefully,
Then peeked inside, what could it be?
A giant, wooden puzzle rack,
To replace our messy puzzle stack.
It sits proud and tall on our rolling shelf,
Next to a small one, not all by itself.
A light beige color, smooth surface, very sturdy,
Blending with our furniture, it matches perfectly.
We remove each puzzle, one by one,
And return it completed when we are done.
Puzzles help build our growing minds, you see,
Spacial awareness, fine motor skills and memory.
This part of the project has come to a close,
The benefits will continue, beyond what anyone knows.
A special kind of human, hears help and answers the call,
You're a DonorsChoose donor, you tower above them all.”

Ms. Kawaa

Funded Jan 1, 2024Ten Beige Sleeping Cots: A Poem
Hip, hip, hooray.
Ten beige sleeping cots arrived without delay.
Our naptime is a joy
For every little girl and boy
The perfect length as bodies grow
We donʻt stay small for long, you know.
Cleaning is a breeze for us
A spritz, some sun, no more fuss
Stack them up, 8, 9, 10
Then repeat the next day again
Dear donors, it's you we adore
We sleep better now than ever before
Our ardent wish we hope comes true,
That your kindness comes back threefold to you.
Me ke aloha, Papa Kamaliʻi”

Bumps and Bruises: Our First Aid Kit
Funded Oct 18, 2023Bumps & Bruises: A First Aid Kit: A Poem
(Tune: My Favorite Things)
These are a few of my favorite things...
When I fall down,
On my back side
That's when I feel blue.
An ice pack, a bandaid
A hug and a smile
And then I feel happy
at school
These are a few of my favorite things...
When I listen
to my heart beat
deep inside of me
The sound is amazing
After I've been racing
One day a kauka (doctor)
I'll be
Thank you for your kind donation of Welly bandaids, instant icepacks, Daycare Incident reports, gloves, and a Kid's Stethoscope Doctor's Kit.

This classroom project was brought to life by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and 5 other donors.A New Gate!
Funded May 9, 2023Thank You, Donor: A Poem
The gate arrived just in time,
Fitting into the space was less sublime.
It did not stretch across the threshold floor,
Extended halfway, but then no more.
The old gate remains, and it will have to do,
As the new year ushers in a brand new crew.
Fret not, dear donor; your kindness did not go to waste,
New items were happily purchased with haste.
Art supplies arrived in a rainbow array,
Yellow, pink, red, blue, white, teal, and gray.
Happy hands grasp new bottles of dot paint,
Nested in little minds, big ideas await.
Birds, houses, and robots who eat pies,
Butterflies, rainbows, and cats with two-colored eyes
Reading feeds the mind, but art feeds the soul,
Your kind donation in support of early learning, we must extol.
Mahalo to the special ʻohana who supported this and other PreK projects!
Sending you lots of aloha!!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Kawaa
