I teach High School Social Studies at Millwood High School. We are a Title 1 majority minority school, with 95% of our students identifying as African American or mixed race. My students have big goals, most are planning on attending a two or four year college - many will be the first in their family to do so. Being able to provide classroom supplies and other supports helps the students focus on academics. We are now able to have 2 different AP classes at the high school and that gives those students a lot of valuable skills they will use in post-secondary education and in life.
