I hope this message finds you well and filled with joy!

I wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donation to our Brooklyn, NY, Middle Schoolers. Your support has not only lightened the financial burden on our school but has also made a direct and significant impact on our students' education, particularly in our science classes, where reading is fundamental to understanding complex concepts.

  • Ms. K's Classroom Supplies

    Funded Feb 2, 2024

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION TO OUR CLASS! You have no idea how your additions to our classroom helped our scholars, and staff members who visited our class were able to help and work with them as well.

With our 6th graders, we could purchase basic circuit-building kits. Scholars learned about energy and how we use electrical power daily. We pondered the question, "How do we light a light bulb?". With these kits, scholars were able to build series and parallel circuits. They were given a hands-on project that took them one week to ensure they knew what happens when we turn on a switch to light a light bulb.

With the modeling clay and Play-Doh, 7th-grade scholars could create 3-D models of the various types of cells they were learning about. These types of cells included animal, plant, prokaryotic, virus, and bacteria cells. This was a 2-week project where scholars could use their knowledge of Cell Theory and how they make up life around us to create a diorama and show what they knew!

This was an amazing year in science because of you! Thank you for helping me have impact!”

My scholars are a broad spectrum of personalities, interests, needs and learning styles. That my scholars and I have given each other is the gift of community. These supplies will allow us to share resources within our classroom. In our diverse student body, we have English language learners, exceptional needs learners and general education scholars. In my classroom, I aim to deliver a blended learning experience.
