Empowering First Graders With Lego Learning Kits!
Funded Nov 3, 2024I am writing to express our deepest gratitude for your generous donation, which has allowed us to purchase LEGO sets for my classroom . Your contribution has made a tremendous impact in helping our students experience hands-on learning in ways that are both engaging and transformative.
Thanks to your support, our students will be able to explore STEM concepts such as engineering, mathematics, and problem-solving in a truly interactive environment. The LEGO sets provide an opportunity for them to design, build, and think critically—helping to bring their learning to life in a fun and meaningful way. These resources are not just tools for play but valuable assets that inspire curiosity, teamwork, and creativity.
We are so grateful to have partners like you who believe in the importance of STEM education. Thank you once again for your generosity and for helping us create a brighter future for our students.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Janice Taylor

Funded Aug 13, 2021Thank you so much for your donation! When the package came we were on our last package of pencils. I had two new students who didn't come with any supplies from their previous campus. Your donation really made a difference in our classroom. The kids were so excited. We had enough supplies to get through the school year. I was able to make a special packet of supplies for three students who didn't have school supplies for the next school year.
We appreciate your gift of kindness. This gift really made a positive impact on my students.”

Funded Dec 9, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation! The kids were so excited to have food at snack time. My second graders didn't get to each lunch until 12:40p.m. so you can imagine how hungry they were. This amazing gift kept my kids going in the afternoons so we could always enjoy a working snack or just some time to listen to a story and have a quick snack. I can't tell you how much my students really appreciated the snacks that you sent.
They asked me questions about who donated the food and how did they find out about us. I told them that there are good people in the world who wanted them to do well at school. I let them know that one day they should do the same for another group of amazing kids...they couldn't agree more!”

Funded Jul 12, 2021Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. This year was met with many challenges. We barely made the school year with the supplies that we had. I am so thankful that your donations helped us out this school year. It really made a difference. My students really appreciated the materials that we received. They wanted to write thank you letters for all the donors that made this happen for us.
Thank you for supporting my classroom this year. Your kindness and support is what makes it worth while to stay in the classroom to make sure my students get the best education possible.”

Funded Jan 29, 2021I just want to say thank you again for your amazing gift. Your donation made it possible for me to buy those extra materials across the curriculum that supported my in person and virtual students.
Teaching during this pandemic has been tough. The learning gaps that you hear about on the news are our new reality in the classroom. Trying to support the needs of in person and online students was a tough challenge to overcome. Your donation is helping to bridge those gaps with the purchase of additional resources to use in my classroom.”

Funded Nov 12, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation. I was so surprised to see that this project was completely funded. You have no idea how much this means to my students. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I tell them that our project has been funded by some wonderful people. Now we have the supplies we need for all the fun activities and projects I have planned for this school year. It's a blessing to know that there are people who care about the needs of our children.”

Getting Down To The Basics With First Grade
Funded Dec 2, 2013When my students learned that someone bought them folders, pencils, and a new sharpener they were very excited. They wanted to know who the people were and how did they find us. I had to explain how donors choose works. One student wanted me to say thank you to all those wonderful people who had a hand in the completion of this project.
My students have homework folders and pencils that they can take home to use. We have colors for art projects and other fun activities we have planned. On Friday students will color green eggs and ham along with creating red and white Dr. Seuss hats.
This project has been such a needed necessity for my students. They don't have to worry about not having folders or broken pencils. This funded project helps me because I know I will have basic supplies for all my students in my classroom. It's a relief to know that this school year will be taken care of with the help of Donors Choose.”

Funded Jan 3, 2012Yahoo!!! I haven't had proposal on this site for so long that I was surprised to see that this one was funded. I don't think thank you is ever enough. When I got back to school after the break my kids were so excited to hear that we were getting blocks in our block center. They would ask me everyday when the package was coming. They were so excited when I opened the box and showed them what we got.
This donation means a lot to me. This is my second year in kindergarten and I didn't have a lot of materials for my kids. I have taught first grade for seven years and one year in the second grade. Everything I had was a little too advanced for my students so I had to store it away or pass it on to someone that could use it more than I could.
With this proposal I'm finally getting on track with what my kids need. It is a relief to know that people support teachers in the classroom. Its been really hard to get everything with cuts in budgets and the possibility of not even being to do what I enjoy most...teach!!
I appreciate what you have done for my students. Thank you for believing in the future of our children.”

Funded Aug 2, 2010I really appreciate your donation for this project. It really came in handy this year. The school district is cutting the budget at my campus so teachers usually end up spending their own money for what they need in the classroom. Being moved to a new grade level really put a strain on me this year. I don't have a lot of the resources that the other kinder teachers have. But this donation put me on the right track to get materials that I would like for my students to have.
I could say thank you a thousand ways and it wouldn't show how much I appreciate your gift. The kids really enjoy the lacing bead and magnetic alphabet blocks. I wish you could see their faces when I opened the boxes and showed what your donation gave our classroom.
Your thoughtful gift has been a blessing to my students. It just shows that good people like you really do care about making sure that children have what they need to be successful in the classroom!”

Ms. Janice Taylor
Back to the Basics
Funded Feb 3, 2010I am a teacher in one of the largest school districts in Texas. Only one student in my classroom pays the full price for lunch. The rest of my students receive free lunch. As a teacher it is always a challenge to give students what they need in the classroom. I am the first one to check sales papers for back to school sales. I have stood in lines trying to get a much as I can for my students. I do this because everyone needs their own supplies. We can't get through the day without them. Each year it seems that the kids bring less and less. Even getting parents to replenish the supplies after the first semester requires an act from Congress.
As the economy has taken its toll on many households, the needs for more supplies has grown. I can't keep up with the demand for basic items such as crayons, pencils, and glue. I have been using Donors choose for over a year so I decided I would try my luck and see if someone could help me with my growing expense. I was so relieved to see how quickly this proposal was funded. The kids were excited to see the boxes of crayons and dry erase pens.
Now they love to color and make pictures without worrying if we have enough colors. We can use our dry erase boards and not have to fight over erasers or pens drying out. This proposal has been a big help for my students. When they asked who bought all the materials I told them that some nice people who don't know us but care about getting them what they need bought everything and want us to use them well.
Thank you will never be enough for what you have done for my children. You have made a big impact on their lives and I will always remember your kindness.”
