  • Creation Station Presents Paint by Numbers Accessories

    Funded Mar 25, 2022

Art is such an essential part of students' life especially after the pandemic when students are in such need of socialization. Arts and crafts help students relax and let their creative side flows. Some students may appear indolent in certain classes since they have no passion for the subject but put them in front of some art supplies and these students become unrecognizable. They immediately start with a hesitant smile and after a few minutes, they will have interesting inputs on art while they produce the most unexpected and beautiful piece of art.

As a school counselor, I support my friend and colleague who runs an after school club called "Creation Station". We are able to offer our students varieties of projects for them to express themselves. They have so much fun drawing, painting, gluing....Let's not forget about a snack to keep their energy going. Even though, it is a lot of running around organizing supplies and snacks, seeing the smile on their faces while they work makes all the set up time so worth it.

After our Mardi-Gras project, students are very excited to start the next project. Thank you so much for making this activity come to life. My students will definitely enjoy themselves with these great materials.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Etienne

  • Snack Time! - Version II

    Funded Mar 23, 2022

Students drop by my office all the time to ask for a snack. Sometimes, they miss dinner or breakfast because they have no food available at home. Since, I have a large number of my students in temporary housing, a snack is needed in a classroom or office.

Having a snack ready at any time during the day helps students get through that day. A snack after gym class is very much appreciated by all students. My growing middle schoolers seem to always be hungry. I always have a snack ready for them either to get them through the day or to replenish their energy for their after-school activities.

Your generous donations will keep my students satisfied and ready to learn for a while with a smile on their face.

Now, I have a bin full of snacks labeled "Snack of the Day". My students love the "Snack of the day". When they pass by my office, they are always so curious to know what will be in the bin that day. All of this is possible because of wonderful donor like you.”

  • Keeping Safe and Germs Free!

    Funded Feb 18, 2022

It feel so good to know that we have supplies to help our students feel and stay safe around the school building.

Having the tissues available is very important. Students get a cold and they need tissues. Students feel safe enough to let it out and have a good cry in my office. The tissues are very convenient in these cases.

The paper towels, lysol sprays, and broom help me keep my office germ free especially the common area where students spend a lot of time. A quick cleaning at least once a day makes me feel confident that students won't catch any germs when they come to my office.

All of this is possible because of amazing people who care about our public school students. Thank you so much, wonderful donors, for opening your heart and wallet to the benefits of our students.”

  • Back to the Future (With Board Games)

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Health and wellness are the most important thing our students need while readjusting!

My students were so happy to be able to have a game to play while eating lunch in the auditorium. School is so different now with social distancing requirements and eating lunch in the auditorium is not the greatest environment, so having a game to play has put a smile on their faces. They are now able to spread out and play with their friends and have something fun to do once they finish eating their lunch.

Students even requested some of their favorite board games for this project. I wasn't sure how they would take to these games but they love them. We even have monitors checking out the games and checking them back in to make sure that all the pieces are being returned so another group can benefit from these games.

This project is a great success and it is due to amazing donors like you. Thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Electronics Safety With Surge Protector Towers

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

Thank you so much for helping fund this amazing project.

The counseling department is very happy to have these supplies. My students and I were blessed to have previously received some electronic items such as laptops, printers, and tea kettles. It came to my attention that we should take care of them by protecting them while they are being used.

We were in desperate need of some surge protectors that will not only save space but also keep our electronics organized while we are using them. The towers were the solution to our dilemma. I'm not sure if my middle school students will see the benefits of these towers but I do 😀. I am the one working behind the scene to make sure that our electronics are always ready for our students when they need them so I know how important these towers are and will be for our department.”

Many of my students get their essays and projects done on google drive directly on their phones or tablets. Unfortunately, most of them do not have a printer at their disposal. They have to rely on either the school library or the public library to be able to print their work/projects. I'm setting up an after-school club where students will get academic help where they can collaborate with their peers and be able to print the result right away. My goal is to show them that their teachers along with their community can help them get on the road to success.
