  • New Storage to Keep Our Things Safe!

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project for new storage containers for our classroom! We have began organizing all of our toys, games, and learning materials in them and it has made a world of difference in the room!

Not only are our materials now safely packed away, and safe from spills and any other little creatures, but it's allowed me to easily pull items to create many new and different learning centers to give students a variety of learning experiences with each unit and lesson theme.

We are so appreciative of your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

  • Social Emotional Learning and Diversity!

    Funded Mar 1, 2023

Thank you for the donations to this project and continued support of our classroom! The students are loving their new diversity and SEL toys - and we cannot wait to introduce them to this year's students to use as well. We are currently working on breathing and using mindful movement in the classroom and the items from this project will continue to help integrate these ideas and practices into our classroom and curriculum throughout the new school year.

Your support is so greatly appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

  • Big Fun Building Our Cores!

    Funded Aug 28, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this school-wide project for GongTops. Our PE teachers are incredibly excited to use these in all of our PE classes with students from PreK to 2nd grade. We can't wait to show you them in action!

    Your support is so appreciated!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

  • There's Not Enough Cooks in the Kitchen!

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you for your donations to this project for our school! This project has enabled us to have a new oven to use in our student kitchen and allows classrooms to once again utilize the kitchen for classroom lessons and projects!

While the oven arrived at the end of the year, it was already utilized in that short amount of time for cooking projects, science lessons, creating Mother's Day gifts and other art projects!

I know that this upcoming school year will see a lot more use of the oven and the student kitchen! Thank you for your donations and allowing our students new learning opportunities from having a functioning student kitchen again!”

  • A World Of Reading for Graduation

    Funded May 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to this project! Your donations were able to continue our classroom graduation tradition another year! Students were able to each receive a book to commemorate their graduation from Pre-K along with a diploma I created for each graduate moving on to Kindergarten in the fall.

We received so many compliments from parents and families about the book and how special it made their child's milestone! I know that they will be cherished by students and their families as they continue their academic journey to excellence.”

  • Numberblocks Rocks!

    Funded Mar 2, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to this project and supporting our classroom!

Our students LOVE the new Numberblocks activities and creating the Numberblocks characters. It is a new student-favorite math center!

When creating the characters, students work on 1:1 counting, fine motor skills putting the blocks together, and number recognition by following the picture of what character they are making.

These activities have made math fun for students to learn and excited to talk about the numbers and characters.

We are grateful for your contributions to our class!”

  • Classroom Resources on the Go!

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations to this project! Having access to paid items on TeachersPayTeachers has been a life saver - especially when I need specific resources and do not have the time to create them on my own!

Having TPT gift cards helps me purchase resources I would otherwise have to pay for myself or create on my own - which is time consuming during the school year, especially if the resource is needed immediately!

These also allow me to purchase resources that make it possible to provide accommodations for students with specific learning goals and needs in addition to having different levels of work and resources to cover all of my students' learning levels.

    I am so appreciative!”

  • Accidents Happen!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for your donations to this project and supporting our classroom! We have already have had to utilize items from this project as emergency back-up clothing when changes of clothes have been needed. This has been able to assure that kids are able to know that if accidents happen, they are able to be changed and kept clean, dry, safe, and have it done with dignity and respect.

(Rather than take photos of the items we have received we posted photos of our class enjoying our grade-level Polar Express Day and Holiday Dance Party/Pajama day instead.)”

  • Tables for Small Group, Centers, and More!

    Funded May 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your donations to this project and supporting our classroom! Your support of our classroom projects have been able to assist us in providing students with the items they (and our classroom!) need to offer the best learning environment possible.

Having new, sturdy tables have offered our classroom the ability to have assigned table seating for morning work, provided the ability to have more personalized small group instruction, and allowed us to have more space and smaller group use during table center time.”

  • Enhancing Dramatic Play!

    Funded Oct 5, 2022

Our students have been having a blast using our new dramatic play toys from this project since we have received them! Students have been loving using the different appliances and food to play family/house, and as a restaurant. During November and December students used the new food and appliances to make "Christmas Cookies" and incorporated our existing dramatic play toys to celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Thanksgiving, and Diwali. In January we will be using some items from this project to celebrate Lunar New Year. We have more ideas to diversify our dramatic play even more using the items from this project!

Your donations and support for our classroom are extremely appreciated and we are forever grateful for them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Johnson

As a teacher in a preschool room in a low-income school district, my students are faced with challenges inside and outside of the classroom. Despite the many challenges that my students are facing, I strive to provide them with a fun, interactive, safe, and meaningful learning environment. As their teacher I try to instill the importance of communicating/listening to one another, being a good citizen and leader, and using trauma-informed techniques to aid them in their social-emotional development. My students have various learning styles, backgrounds and needs. Due to being located in an inner-city, funding is extremely hard to come by, and in order to provide my students with the best learning experiences I can give them, I typically find ways to procure these items and experiences out of pocket or by any means I can - which is where DonorsChoose comes in.
