I am completely blown away by your generosity and kindness!! This new laptop will be an invaluable classroom resource for years to come. The most special part about this new resource is that it will give us the ability to connect with families and share children’s school experiences with their families through pictures and videos uploaded to their individual digital portfolio. Words cannot describe how exciting and innovative this new technology will be to our classroom community. Thank you for making this possible!”

    Funded Nov 4, 2021

The blocks and vehicles purchased in this projects has opened a world of STEM possibilities for my students! These new building materials have promoted science, engineering, and math concepts as well as ELA and social-emotional concepts.

Students have worked together to create roadways, buildings, ramps, and so much more. They are encouraged to use creativity and imagination in their work while also being exposed to academic vocabulary and discourse. Students have also had opportunities to build upon their fine and gross motor skills while building with their new blocks. Thank you for your generous donations which helped make this project possible!”

  • Keeping Our School Squeaky Clean

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected our school community in more ways than one. Unfortunately, the regulations put in place over the last two school years left our classrooms feeling cold, uninviting, and overall unappealing to our young learners. Soft fabric of any kind was forbidden in our classrooms due to its ability to carry and spread germs. This included rugs, puppets, pillows, plush toys and dolls, and dramatic play dress-up clothing. However, this school year has been different due to the ease of regulations. Our classrooms have finally returned to normal allowing for a more collaborative environment for all students. We have been able to gather together on rugs for shared read alouds and lessons, retell stories using puppets, regulate emotions through the use of plush toys, and take on different roles through imaginative play dress-up.

With this, came the responsibility of caring for these items and ensuring they remained sanitized and safe for their users. The washer purchased with the help of your kindness and generosity has worked to keep our classrooms clean, sanitized, and safe for all students, staff, and members of our school community. We cannot thank you enough for helping our school return to normal and finally have a safe and welcoming feeling for our students and their families.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jocelyn

  • Lights! Shadows! Action!

    Funded Nov 15, 2021

The materials we received from this project have been used to help my students study science through hands-on experiences. Our play-based PreK curriculum designates an entire unit to light. In our Light unit, students learned about sources of light (including electricity, sun, stars and flashlights), darkness, and shadows with hands-on materials such as flashlights and mirrors. Adding a light table and accessories to our science area has increased the amount of hands-on learning experiences had by my students. In addition to creating science experiences, this light table and its accessories have created hands-on math experiences for my students as well. Using the accessories, students were able to learn about number identification, patterns, shapes, colors, and counting. These materials will surely be enjoyed for many years to come all thanks to your generosity!”

  • Exploring Science Concepts in PreK

    Funded Aug 22, 2021

We love our new science exploration table! It has created a space in our classroom where children are able to study science concepts and feed their natural curiosity while making sense of the world and gaining an understanding of how things work. They have been able to engage in play-based activities with their peers in order to explore plants, magnets, water phenomena, light, and their five senses. We are so excited to continue enjoying this science exploration table for years to come. Thank you for your generosity and support for our classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jocelyn

  • Sensory Play Our Way! (Part II)

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

We absolutely love our new sand and water sensory center! My students use this center everyday to explore the core concepts in our instructional units. They have been able to improve upon their fine and gross motor skills as well as their math, science, and literacy skills.

Our most current activity involved the use of sand, construction vehicles, and road signs. Students used the construction vehicles while they pretended to work on a construction site. This multi-sensory activity targeted students' abilities to ask questions, make observations, and gather information about a situation people want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool

I am most looking forward to our Water unit. Our table will be filled with water and students will explore the vocabulary words "sink" and "float" in an experimental activity.

Thank you to all of our generous donors who have made this possible for my students. Our sand and water sensory center will be loved for many years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Jocelyn
