My students sometimes come to school lacking in basic reading and writing skills. Even in the upper grade levels, students are easily confounded by grade-level tasks and intimidated by academic writing. A high-yield printer would allow students to be able to own their writing. Because of budget constraints, there is a dearth of printers in the building. A classroom printer would allow them to draft, proofread, edit, and annotate. They would also have instant access to informational text, which is so vital in conquering the common core. A printer would help them see language as a tool of success, not just words on a page.
