Reinforcements for Self-Contained Autism class
Funded Nov 5, 2023Thank you so much for helping our students learn how to self-regulate with your donations to our project.
The students in our program are learning valuable skills that are associated with time management, communication and earning positive reinforcements because of your graciousness.
Without individuals like you, students in programs like mine would be lost in education.
Thank you for understanding that all students learn differently and deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Wilson

Funded Aug 2, 2023Thank you for helping make our classroom studio apartment dream come to life. Without your generosity this would not have been possible. I wish every single one of you could be a fly on the wall to see all of the learning happening within these 4 walls.
When people come into our room the first thing they say is, "It looks like an apartment." I love watching our students then show others the neat things we have within the room that gives it the apartment vibe.
So far our students have mastered putting a fitted sheet onto a bed, hanging clothing in a closet among various other household tasks. AND, they love exploring new things in virtual reality. Our students are thriving beyond any and all expectations ever imagined, all because of you.”

Ms. Wilson

Funded Oct 27, 2021I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donations to my class' education. The money you donated was used to purchase items for a self-contained high school autism program. Within our program we focus on life after high school aiming for more independence, job skills and readiness and age appropriate social interaction.
The color printer that was purchased allows for more realistic imaging providing longer interaction and attending to tasks on hand. Combined with the spiral binding notebook machine, our students are able to have personalized workbooks, tailored to their specific IEP goals and objectives. These are just two of the big purchases that were made. However we purchases laminating sheets that you can see in the pictures provided, were used with the color print outs.
Without your help, the students in our program would not be able to have access to many of the things we do because we cannot simply afford to purchase them on our own. If you are interested in seeing your donations in action, you can look up TheHowToTeachers on INSTAGRAM or TIKTOK for updates”

Rowing Machine for Autism
Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you to each and every one of you who donated to help fund the rowing machine for our classroom. It has completely changed the dynamic in our self-contained autism room for the better.
Some individuals on the autism spectrum have a very distinctive stim. For my students most of the stimming behaviors present themselves as being overly fidgety, pacing around the room, or having verbal outbursts. When the students are directed to "GO ROW" they find a rhythm and suddenly their stim is gone.
Since the movement of rowing uses the whole body, my kids are receiving a therapy to help calm them. This machine is so amazing and I cannot thank you enough for helping us get it for our room.”
