• Standing Desk for Special Education Students

  It is with great privilege that I get to thank you for your generous donations that made this standing desk a reality for us in Room 12! The kids were so excited when I told them it was a donation from Donors Choose for our classroom!

  We now have the luxury of standing while doing our work. The kids take turns throughout the day. Everyone is able to focus and get their wiggles out all while learning at the same time.

• Exceptional Students in Need of Exceptional Audio Book for Science

  Funded May 30, 2023

  Thank you so much for your thoughtful donation to our classroom. These National geographic books will grow with our students during science and social studies time this year.

  Currently I am working with 4th through 6th graders learning at a kinder through first grade level and these books are perfect because they will be able to use them with headphones and the CD provided.

  Giving students the chance to listen to the stories on their own provides them Independence and a sense of pride.

• Clean and Clear Classroom

  I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generous donations to our clean and clear classroom at Grusnky Elementary! Our O.W.L.'s (Outstanding Wonderful Learners) were so excited when all of the packages were delivered to our room and couldn't believe that strangers donated all of theses supplies to them because they think their health and safety matters. Students work in the comfort and security of their masks and clean desks with the help from your donations. Thank you for keeping our class germ free and safe for everyone!”

• Sensory Squishies for Spectacular Special Needs Students

  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the generous individuals that gave to this project, Sensory Squishies for Spectacular Special Needs Students! Our students are thriving this new year thanks to the extra help of these awesome fidget toys! Currently, we are using them as incentives for good behavior in and outside of the classroom. They have opportunities to use them throughout the day when their behavior is that of a spectacular student. The children are able to focus on their work while fidgeting their wiggles away with these educational toys. Thanks again and I hope 2022 blesses you as it has us in room 12!”

• Learning With Language Centers and Puzzles for All!

  Funded Sep 4, 2021

  We are so thankful for your generous donations to out classroom in Stockton, California. Thanks to you we are able to color with out new multicultural colored pencils, crayons and markers! We tried out our new supplies this month for our Super Student Wall and titled it "Fall Into Action". Each student was able to pick the color that best matched their skin tone and color their superhero to look like them.

  When the children saw the amazing new art supplies they screamed with excitement and started saying how cool it was to have a color that matched them. Our next project will be to color our multicultural families at home.

• All Colors Are Beautifully Represented in Our Special Day Classroom!!!

  We are so excited in room 12 to have the new Crayola Multicultural colored pencils, crayons and markers! Each student was able to pick the color crayon they thought matched their skin for our Super Student Artwork, "Fall Into Action". It was so neat seeing their faces light up when we opened the box from Donors Choose!

  Thank you for allowing our vision of a colorful, represented classroom come to life in our Special Day Class. The kids cannot wait to draw and color their families using multiple colors for their artwork. Teaching kids that being different from everyone else is so important and these materials allow us to do just that!

  Moving forward, we hope to change our Super Student Wall monthly in the classroom to a new theme. This will allow the students a chance to improve their art skills and abilities. They are all looking forward to drawing their Fall themed favorite book character for the month of October. Thank you for your generous gift of color to our classroom!”
