  • Power Snacks

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you so very much for your kindness and generosity to my students. Since getting the power snacks I have been able to help my students who did not eat lunch or needed a snack. I shared the snacks with students since receiving them. The students were very happy with the variety of the snacks. There was something that everyone liked to snack on.

Having a little snack in the day allows the students to focus on academic endeavors and accomplish their goals. I am truly thankful for donors like you, who help my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Islam

  • Sports Books

    Funded Oct 24, 2022

Thank you for your generous donation to our classroom library. My students are very interested in sports and famous athletes. Currently we are reading about Michael Jordan, Derek Jeter and Venus and Serena Williams as a part of our Non Fiction unit. Students really enjoy reading books about athletes. Your donation helps fuel their curiosity for learning about sports and famous people. These books will allow students to understand and appreciate reading to learn about sports and athletes. These books are just what we needed.”

    With gratitude,

  • Accessible Texts

    Funded Nov 3, 2022

We will be using these books to read in partnerships. Usually, when students read to each other they improve their fluency and comprehension skills because they are able to discuss the book within the partnership. Being able to discuss with others help the students to learn from each other and become better global citizens and build our classroom community.

These books will be enjoyable for students in the coming years as the books will be part of the classroom library.

We frequently share books within classrooms and within the grade levels to help out other students in our school. There's no telling how many students will enjoy the books you have donated.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Islam

  • Cool Pens!

    Funded Oct 27, 2022

Thank you so very much for the kind and thoughtful donations to our classroom. The students are looking forward to learning and growing as writers and readers with these supplies.

We truly appreciate your help for our classroom. Donors like you make us believe that we can do anything we put our minds to. With these new writing supplies students will be able to express their thoughts and ideas into works of art. Our school has many students who are immigrants and minorities and these donations help to level the playing field.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Islam

  • Diverse Books

    Funded Oct 11, 2022

The books you have donated to my classroom are being used to help struggling readers. These lower level books are helping them sharpen their phonics and decoding skills.

We are using the books to read in small groups and discuss characters. We are doing a deep study of character and we are looking at character traits, character pressures, and improving our understanding of characterization.

Students sit in groups of 3 or 4 and read their books. Sometimes we read to our partners and discuss our character. We talk about what motivated the character to say or do something. Sometimes we read a short story as a class and discuss what is happening in terms of theme, character, setting, etc.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Islam
