My students with special needs desperately need sensory toys in our classroom. Many sensory toys, such as the Light Sensory Tables, Sensory Dough, Silly Shape Sensory Mats, Nature Slide, Float and Find Alphabet, & Gel Beaded Sensory Shapes, are toys that provide the particular sensory input that many children with autism crave. Whether it is visual or tactile, the toys have the power to capture my students' attention, making the right sensory toy a powerful reinforcer. These kinds of sensory input can help children focus and process information. Sensory input is especially helpful for students with ADHD, ADD, and ASD. I have seen how sensory input can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that these additional options will help us grow even more!
