Clean Up and Sort!
Funded Sep 7, 2022I want to thank everyone who made it possible for this project to be funded. We have been able to use the color cubes to organize and clean up toys. we have been able to make it fun to clean up and sort by color. The students are also able to grab their blankets for nap time and put it away after. They have gained a sense of independence and accomplishment. They are so proud of themselves when they can do it all on their own, like a big kid! The Letter Buddies have been so fun too... soft and great to hug, and when they are all put away they get to sit on the comfy beanbag chair they are stored in. I want to thank you so much. We use all the materials daily! You have made an impact in class for years to come.”

Funded May 17, 2019I want to thank you for the amazing donations that you made to my project. I know it has been a while, and I'm sorry for that. I want you to know that your donations made a lot of kids very happy. They were able to explore and learn new things using the tablets you helped make possible with your donations. We were able to break up into groups and explore together. They were also able to work independently and explore math, science and phonics games and online activities.
The students were so excited to start using them. They wanted to explore and read/listen to stories. They couldn't wait to explore their artsy side by painting, coloring and drawing on the touchscreens. We even found some cool science experiments they can do online.
I want you to know that my students really enjoy them. They don't usually have access to technology like this. It was such a treat. It really made their year! Your donations put the biggest smiles on their faces and gave their imaginations wings to fly and explore. I can't thank you enough.”

Funded Oct 6, 2018I want to thank you for donating to our wonderful class. The students were so happy and excited to start interactive story time. When teaching students with special needs, it is important to keep their attention, something that is not always easy. I wanted to bring the stories we read in class to life. The students were so excited to see the boxes from Donors Choose. It was like Christmas to them. We opened all of them together, and I showed them what I asked for, and how we can use it in class.
They couldn't wait for story time. We did Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes. As I read the story the students were able to follow and interact with the story by changing his shoes and the oops that that to Pete the Cat as the story progressed. the student were able to express either verbally, through gestures, or even placing the correct picture on the story board. Students with all levels of communication were able to participate during story time! I saw so many smile and excited faces by the end of the book that I was left speechless.
Thank you for the impact you have made on my kids. You gave them a way to all be included and have fun during story time. Now, my students look forward to story time and can wait to participate. It has helped not only with communication skills but it has helped them with understanding the parts of a story and the sequence of event that happen. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for the impact you have made on my kids.”

Funded Jun 8, 2017First off, Thank you so much for your extremely generous donation. It has made a huge impact in my classroom having a corner for my special needs students. This corner enables them to take a moment when they are having a rough time, or need to separate themselves to complete a task . I have even utilized it as a behavior management as a positive reward if they are behaving.
The students love hanging out in the tee-pee. Their reactions when they entered the classroom on the first day was absolutely priceless. The long tables have alleviated so much space in my classroom. Again thank you so much for your donation.”

Funded Jan 26, 2014We as a class, want to say "thank you so much for your amazing donation!" We had our first FCAT Writing Boot Camp. Our Class was able to use their FCAT Writing Notebook (composition notebook) an FCAT Binder (3-ring binder) to take notes and keep important worksheets as they went from mini lesson to mini lesson all day. The next day in class, we discussed everything that we learned in our FCAT Writing Boot Camp. They said that because they had the notebooks and binders that it was easier to stay organized so they can use the information to study and review what they learned. As a teacher, I couldn't be happier to see that my students are able to apply the very important skills of review, organization, and note-taking.
Thank you so much for your donation. We are starting to use the other 2 notebooks for FCAT Math and Reading.”

Bulking Up Our Classroom Library for Common Core
Funded Dec 3, 2013I want to thank you for your donations. I know that my students can't wait to read the new books that are making their way to our classroom. My students are constantly reading. They know that reading is very important to learning and growing. I am so excited to be able to incorporate these books into the learning that is already taking place. The best part is because of your generosity all of the fourth grade students will be able to use them too. Our new reading series uses a common core approach to teaching. As you know the more resources we can have at our disposal the better. Thank you again, you really don't know what this means to me and my students.”

Earth Day Project Supplies
Funded Nov 22, 2013I want to thank you so much for your donation. You have inspired me and my class so mush. You have made a huge impact on my class. When I told my students about the project they were excited, but I told them this was the first time I had even done anything like this. I had my doubts about how successful it was going to be. I was so happy to tell my class that not only were we going to be able to do the project as planned, but that we had a very special someone who believed in us and donate all the supplies that we would need for this project. My students were so over joyed that they couldn't wait to thank you. They had so many ideas for the thank-you project. We hope that you like it as much as we enjoyed making it.
My students can't wait till Earth Day to complete the project. I might have to think of something to hold them over till April (lol).”

Ms. Hernandez
