Classroom Essentials to Help History Come Alive Through Literature
Funded Jul 19, 2024First of all, thank you again for your generous donations that allowed my project to be fully funded. We have been enjoying our updated classroom space since school started at the end of August and it has drastically changed our learning environment.
Students always love to see that we have an alternative, comfy seating area in the room. It allows them to have a comfortable space to work on individual assignments and is great for collaborative group work. The additional writing supplies have helped students to take notes using different colors and the highlighters have allowed students to study for efficiently or work through printed readings with more ease.
The extra storage space has allowed our classroom library to have its own location now and students love that they can pick out a book when they have a few moments of free time. The books for our History through Literature class have been a huge hit and we are currently enjoying reading through Dreamland Burning which we all love!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Held

Funded Apr 30, 2023Thank you so much for your contributions to my project! It has been amazing watching the space come to life and transform into a safe space for students to read, work and collaborate. Every student (even those who are not in my class!) loves the space and enjoys using it to relax and get work done in an alternative seating arrangement.
My classes all have silent reading time at the beginning of the period and students enjoy getting their opener assignments done so they go have their turn comfortably read in the space. Often groups rotate through the space to complete discussions or small group work and enjoy the flexibility. My colleagues and I have also used the space to informally meet or relax at the end of the day.
I can't wait to see how the space is added to throughout the year and how students continue to use it!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Held
