Hygiene Baskets for Boys!
Funded Jan 25, 2022The students of FGPA are overjoyed that you were all so generous! Students were able to participate in a hygiene and self care lesson on Friday, March 11th. During this lesson, they learned about hygiene and self care. It had a great impact on their social emotional learning. After the lesson, students received a personal hygiene package thanks to YOU! They were so excited to get their own personal items. Many students were asking if there were extras that they could have. Thanks to you and your donations, students feel safe and clean when coming to school.”

Headphone Heroes
Funded Oct 27, 2020Thank you so much for your support during such unprecedented times. My students were overjoyed when I handed out the headphones in school! They expressed that these headphones will help them be successful during blended learning.
My students have been working hard to continue learning even in these conditions. Many of them were able to use the headphones to watch video lessons independently, and they said the headphones will help them better focus when they are learning from home! Many of them live in homes with many siblings. Therefore, having headphones to put in will help minimize distractions!
Thank you for supporting the students in need in NYC! Be well.”

Help Us Fidget So We Can Focus!
Funded May 28, 2020Thank you so much for making this possible. My students will be happy to know that when they return to the building, there will be bands here to help them relieve the stress and anxiety of coming back to school during a time of such uncertainty.
Many of my students suffer from anxiety and love to fidget with their hands. This will give them an alternative way to fidget that will leave their hands free to complete assignments and be engaged during class.
Something so small has such a large impact on my school community. I am glad that my students will have something to look forward to upon entering the building.”

Funded Nov 20, 2019Thank you so much for contributing to mathematical success in our classroom! The students are beginning to get more in depth with different math topics, and these calculators will help them navigate through the rest of the year. The technology can show students images of graphs, help them perform operations, etc. This helps give students confidence when learning new topics.
The most exciting thing about this new product is that the students are now able to have the ability to graph functions at the palm of their hands. Students were struggling to visualize mathematical concepts without the visual to go along with them. Now, students are able to make better connections and are experiencing all that mathematics has to offer!
All of the students in class have warmed to this new technology because they were originally refusing to use the calculators provided. They were hard to navigate and not adequate for the processes that they needed to perform. Some of the calculators also did not work. However, they are now able to have access to a few calculators that they can use to help them work through problems independently and in groups!
Thank you for helping us in our time of need! We are eternally grateful, and we look forward to doing more math than ever before!”
