  • The Show Must Go On!

    Funded Feb 7, 2025

On behalf of the students, staff, and entire school community, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous donation of materials for our production of Matilda Jr. Your support played an instrumental role in bringing our vision to life and creating an unforgettable experience for our young performers.

When we first set out to produce Matilda Jr., we knew it would be a special opportunity for our students—a chance to engage with storytelling, build confidence, and explore their creativity. What we didn't know was just how much the kindness and generosity of our extended community would shape the final result.

But your gift did more than help build a set or dress a stage. It gave our students the chance to shine. For many of them, this was their first experience performing in a theatrical production, and the confidence they gained will stay with them far beyond the final curtain call. You helped empower young voices, nurture emerging talents, and create memories that will last a lifetime.

We are truly grateful to count you as part of our community. Your support demonstrates what can happen when people come together to lift up young artists and inspire future storytellers. We hope you'll stay connected with us as we continue to grow our theater program and expand creative opportunities for our students.

Thank you once again for your kindness, your materials, and your belief in what we do. You helped make Matilda Jr. more than just a school play—you helped make it magic.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Harris

  • Hispanic Heritage Celebration!

    Funded Oct 18, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting my students! Hispanic Heritage Day was a huge success because of all of the materials you helped provide.

Every year, my school ensures that students have memorable experiences in middle school. This is by far everyone's favorite day of the year.

Students were able to make their own guacamole while getting serenaded by a mariachi band. They used the plates and utensils provided to help them make their guacamole.

Please continue to support schools and teachers whenever you can! We cannot do what we do without your support.”

    With gratitude,

  • 8th Grade Gets Organized

    Funded Jan 3, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting organization in our classroom. We are so excited to set up and use the back of chair organizers.

My students are middle schoolers, and they do not have lockers. Unfortunately, this means that they do not have a central location to keep all of their items. This causes some stress for students as well as disorganization.

One of the most important transferrable skills students learn in middle school is the ability to organize and be self sufficient. You donation is going to give them this great opportunity!

Thank you again for your kindness and generosity. The students of FGPA are forever grateful!”

  • Paper Goods for Hispanic Heritage Day!

    Funded Oct 2, 2023

Thank you so much for all of your support for my students. Their Hispanic Heritage Celebration was a huge success. Students were able to participate in fun cultural events such as a guacamole making class with the help of your donation of paper goods. The students were so thankful and excited. They expressed that it is one of their favorite days of the year. We had so many leftover resources, and we will be able to use them to support our Cultural Feast as well. We are looking forward to having more celebrations this year all thanks to you!”

  • Senior Shirts

    Funded May 17, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom community. We are so excited to use the irons and ironing paper in order to bring our t-shirt designs to life.

My students are so excited to see how they can use math in real life. Your donation has directly helped students make meaningful math connections. Students will be designing and dilating their own designs that we can then put on t-shirts using the materials you so generously donated.

Thank you for your unending support of New York City public school students and teachers!”

  • Hygiene Helpers

    Funded Jan 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your support of the students of Fort Greene Preparatory Academy. The students are forever grateful for all that you have done to support them during their time of need.

In order to make sure that students can access their learning properly during the school day, they must have all of their basic needs met. One of those needs is access to cleansing products.

The generosity you showed continues to help students feel ready to learn. All students that do not have access to these items at home are now able to access them for free.”

  • Hispanic Heritage Day

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your support of Hispanic Heritage Day at FGPA! Students had a wonderful time learning about Hispanic heritage.

Thanks to your generous donation, we were able to have a guacamole making class led by our Spanish teacher. All students got to learn how to make it on their own, and they were able to use the plates and cutlery to access this project.

Students also learned how to salsa dance during this day. Overall, this was a day full of excitement and learning.

Thank you for your continued generosity and support of NYCDOE students!”

  • End of Year Materials!

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for you materials donation. I was able to get my classroom clean and make sure that it was in perfect shape for the students return to school in September. We are able to make sure that students are maintaining a clean and safe learning environment. This is of the utmost importance as we come out of these unprecedented times. With COVID still in our midst and flu season upon us, this is truly and amazing donation that will keep my students healthy this year. Thank you for your continued support and kindness.”

Many of my students come from low income households and cannot afford their own calculators. This has been a disservice to their mathematics education and road to mastery of Algebra. Therefore, it becomes difficult for students to take exams as well as comprehend the material without the ability to graph at their fingertips. The students are eager to learn how to graph functions in the TI-84 calculator in order to analyze and interpret different mathematical models. As young scholars, these students deserve access to the best possible equipment to set them up for success! Please join me in creating the most equitable classroom environment for my students!
