With our new camera our rockets are able to learn editing technology, videography, and photography. In this way they discover new loves and talents. They also become comfortable in front of the camera. Some students have also developed a passion for journalism.
Many students haven't seen a professional camera and just being around it excites them. Before this gift, our students were using the laptop camera to record. The awe and fascination students have when learning the capabilities of the camera is always touching.
Two of our members have taken in the initiative to try using features of the camera like zooming in and out during recording. Their enthusiasm is spreading among the students and many want to learn more features too.
This wouldn't be possible without the aide of our amazing donors choose community.”

This classroom project was brought to life by The DonorsChoose community & an Anonymous Partner and 9 other donors.

This will help improve the quality of the videos students produce for their school community. It will also help them dive deeper into the production and editing processes. We hope that what we do here with the Rocket News team will introduce them to career options never previously considered. It is my hope this camera will also help with future projects for the news team and other clubs. I have seen how students attitudes' have improved since joining the club, most students are excited about getting on camera and recording.
