Funded Nov 27, 2017My students have used the magic carpet during silent reading time, whole group reading and free time. During our indigenous people of North America unit we read a book entitled ''Shi-Shi-etko that was an anchor text to our ''Thunder Rolling in the Mountains'' unit. The book ''Shi-Shi-etko is a picture book. Therefore,students were able to get on the carpet and enjoy the reading. Students engaged with the book and answer questions on the carpet. Students were really excited about the carpet and immediately began asking to sit on the carpet during normal class discussions.”
