  • Bringing the Witch Trials Alive: Copies of The Crucible Needed

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so much for supporting this project and allowing me to put this amazing play into my students' hands!

We've just finished reading Act One in class, and my students are hooked. They love, of course, the drama between Abigail and Proctor, but they've also made connections to today's society and the way communities are organized. In having their own copy of the play, students have been able to mark key lines, phrases, and vocabulary as we read. It has helped them take ownership of their reading.

Thank you again for your continued support! It really does make a difference!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Gionti

  • Making Literature Come Alive With Play-Doh

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this project!

My students had so much fun this week constructing examples of imagery from Jonathan Edwards' sermon, "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God." As you can see from the pictures, they not only had a great time, but they created some pretty amazing work as well. This project really allowed all learners to engage with a complex text and show what they know. I was blown away by my students' creativity.

Thank you again for making this fun project come alive! Your support is greatly appreciated!”

    Ms. Gionti

  • Creating a Safe Welcome Back to School

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Your donation of masks and hand sanitizer is perhaps the most important thing I will be able to share with students when they come back to school next month. So many students have already reached out to me asking how things will be or questioning safety protocols -- it will be reassuring to provide them with their own (fun!) masks and individual hand sanitizer. I've been working in my room setting up for the new school year and have organized the masks and supplies into bags for each student upon entering our classroom. I am looking forward to being able to use the backdrop and welcome sign to take pictures on the first day.

Thank you again for your support! It really does make a difference! I look forward to sharing pictures with you soon.”

  • Cardstock Needed for SEL and STEM Projects

    Funded Jul 23, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this project! I was at school today setting up my classroom and was able to organize and color-code all the paper. It got me so excited for all the projects my students will do this year. I know my students will also be inspired by all the color choices they will have, too. Our first project is a research poster on the 1920s (to go with our unit on The Great Gatsby), and I look forward to sharing pictures of their work.

Thank you again for your continued support and generosity! It really does make a difference!”

  • Art Supplies for Social-Emotional Learning

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this project and bringing much needed art supplies into my classroom! I am so excited for students to use these supplies upon their return to in-person learning this September. The supplies will be used to help students connect to the literature we're reading and as a way to process their emotions.

Thank you again for your continued support! It really does make a difference! I look forward to sharing pictures with you later this fall once students are back in the building.”

  • Help! Basic Classroom Supplies Needed

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so very much for funding this project! With students heading back into the classroom for the first time in a year and a half, having new, clean school supplies will be such a help. I've spent the past week organizing my classroom and each time I see one of the items you donated, it makes me excited for the start of school!

Thank you again for your continued support! It really does make a difference. I look forward to sharing pictures with you later this fall once students are in the building.”

  • Let's Get Organized! Classroom Storage Needed

    Funded Jul 20, 2021

Thank you so very much for funding this project! I am beyond excited to actually have storage space for all the things now in my classroom! The printer stand is exquisite, with room for the printer and paper. It is so sturdy that I'm not afraid of it collapsing or breaking. The magnetic wall pockets are also amazing and will help so much this fall when students need to find missing handouts or worksheets.

Thank you again for all of your support! It really does make a difference and makes the return to in-person learning that much easier.”

  • Creating a Welcoming Atmosphere in Our Classroom

    Funded Jul 15, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this project! There is so much uncertainty about school starting this fall, but one thing I know for sure is that your support has made such a difference already. I've been in my classroom this week trying to get things organized and set up ahead of time, and each time I look and see the items you've donated, I get so excited to welcome students back to school.

Thank you again for your continued support! I look forward to sharing pictures with you this fall once everything is set up and students are back in the classroom!”

  • Supplies for Creating an Engaging and Welcoming Classroom

    Funded Jun 23, 2021

Thank you so much for funding this project and providing me with supplies to help make my classroom welcoming and engaging! I was in my classroom today working to organize materials and make things festive. I'm so excited to use materials to display pictures of students and their work.

Your help has ensured that we will create a safe space for students who are excited to come to school each day. I look forward to sharing pictures with you later this fall.

Thank you again for your continued support! It really does make a difference!”

  • Literature and Mental Health Through Art: Supplies Needed

    Funded Jun 2, 2021

Wow! I am blown away by your generosity! Thank you so much for your continued support. I am so excited to be able to use these art supplies to help my students heal, process the curriculum, and be creative this fall.

One of our first projects will be creating pieces of the wallpaper from the short story, "The Yellow Wallpaper." Students will use canvas, paint, and other materials to create a multi-media depiction of the wallpaper from their section of the story. We will put all pieces together when finished to show the character's progression. This short story and creative activity will also allow for good discussions on mental health, isolation, and gender norms.

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! I look forward to sharing pictures with you this fall.”

    Ms. Gionti

The majority of my students qualify for the free-reduced lunch program and getting them to provide even the most basic of school supplies for themselves is challenging. The few students who do have access to technology, barely know how to conduct a Google search or how to use spell check in Microsoft Word. It is sad that for some students, double spacing an essay means hitting the space bar twice after each word.
