3D Printing Ourselves into Engineers
Funded Aug 12, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity! You have assured that my students will be able to engage in our school's challenging engineering curriculum and see their work come to life through 3D printing and creating working displays. Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to grow as learners and participate in hands on learning.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Funder and 3 other donors.Taking a Byte Out of Third Grade
Funded Sep 15, 2014Thank you so much for your donations and giving me the ability to put technology in the hands of my students. When I told my students that through your generous donations we would be receiving six laptops, they were beyond excited and spent the following days asking me when they would finally arrive. When they did finally arrive my students were so happy and excited to see and touch them and were eager to begin using them right away.
Since the arrival of the laptops we have used them to develop our knowledge of the different parts of the computer, our mousing skills, and our touch typing abilities. Students have also been able to improve their reading comprehension and math skills through the use of websites like Sumdog and Into the Book. As the year draws to the close we will also begin using the laptops in order to conduct research and create presentations, as well as, learn a bit of coding through Code.org.
The laptops we have received have been extremely helpful in improving my teaching practices and enhancing student learning. This is because it has given many of my students who do not have computers at home the ability to learn to use technology in a productive and safe manner. Furthermore, having daily use of the computers has increased engagement, as they all love to use the computers. Finally, having the computers has also allowed me to provide differentiation for my students that need extra assistance or need a challenge. Overall, the computers have been a marvelous and helpful addition to our classroom and everyone in room 21 is happy about the learning that has been reached through them.”

Organize, Organize, Organize!
Funded Jan 29, 2014Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. Your donation will not only impact the lives of my current students, but also the lives of those to come. While funding a project that buys adhesive hooks and book bins may seem unimportant to some, know that this project was not unimportant to my students or myself. You have given my students a place of their own, in the classroom, and the ability to easily access books that are at their reading level, therefore, allowing them the chance to grow as readers and develop a passion for literature.
My students were beyond ecstatic to receive the supplies your donation funded. From the moment they knew that they had arrived, my students were eagerly waiting for me to put up the hooks so that they no longer had to put their backpacks on the ground or stack them on the table. They were also very happy to see the bins that would bring a sense of order to our unorganized library.
Since then we have been using the adhesive hooks to hang our backpacks and jackets at the beginning of the day. The book bins have also been to put to good use, as they now contain books that are organized by guided reading level and whether they are fiction or non-fiction. The students use the books in these bins to access reading material for silent-sustained reading and to complete their reading logs.
As a result of your donation, I am happy to note that the number of injuries caused by retrieving backpacks at the end of the day has been reduced to zero. Students literacy has improved due to having a library organized by guided reading levels. Students access to books at their reading level has been improved, as they used to have to sort through piles of books to find a book they could read most of the words to and understand. Students have also become more productive due to the fact that they can easily retrieve a book at their reading level, as a result, they spend less time at the library and more time reading. Finally, students are able to set goals for themselves, as they all want to read books at the higher levels.
The benefits of your donation will only continue through the years, as it has already had such a positive effect on my students today.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Garcia
