  • Clean Classroom for Special Education Students

    Funded Jan 26, 2021

I am thrilled to share the wonderful impact your generous contributions have made on our "Clean Classroom for Special Education Students" project. Thanks to your support, we now have access to essential resources that have truly transformed our classroom environment. With the new supplies and materials, we've been able to create a more organized, engaging, and stimulating space for our students.

One specific example of the difference your support has made is our recent project on environmental science. We used the new cleaning supplies and organizational tools to maintain a clutter-free and hygienic classroom, which allowed our students to focus better and actively participate in hands-on experiments. They were excited to see their new, clean workspace and immediately took pride in keeping it organized. The enthusiasm was palpable, and their increased engagement was evident in their work.

Looking ahead, we're continuing with our lessons on sustainability and community responsibility. Your contributions have not only improved the physical environment of our classroom but also reinforced the importance of maintaining a clean and organized space as part of our learning. We are excited to move forward with our next project, which will involve creating a classroom garden to further explore environmental concepts. Your support has laid a solid foundation for these exciting educational opportunities, and we are deeply grateful for your role in enriching our students' learning experiences.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Flakowitz

  • Classroom Items for Everyone

    Funded Jan 25, 2021

I am thrilled to share how the new resources you generously provided have positively impacted my classroom. Recently, we embarked on an exciting project where my students used the new art supplies to create detailed dioramas representing different ecosystems. This project not only allowed them to explore their creativity but also deepened their understanding of environmental science. The new materials, including high-quality paints and craft supplies, significantly enhanced their ability to bring their ideas to life, making the learning process both engaging and effective.

When the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable. Their eyes lit up with enthusiasm as they eagerly gathered around the new supplies, their faces reflecting sheer delight and curiosity. This initial reaction set the tone for the project, with students diving into their work with a newfound energy and passion. As we move forward, the next steps for our project involve presenting their dioramas and explaining the ecosystems they've researched. This will not only showcase their creative efforts but also reinforce their understanding of ecological concepts. Your support has truly made a difference, and I am grateful for the opportunity it has provided my students to engage in such meaningful and enjoyable learning experiences.”

Thank you so much for helping to support my amazing and hardworking students! As it is June, we still have 4 weeks left to maintain and continue to grow academically, socially and emotionally. • A Bright Future for All

    Funded Apr 19, 2024

Thank you so much for getting the opportunity to print in color for my students. Bring a special education teacher I use an immense amount of color coding especially to help organize their thoughts with reading and writing. Getting this color ink will allow for us to do this! Thank you.”

  • Blended Learning Technology for Special Education Students

    Funded Sep 11, 2020

Having technology in the classroom has done nothing but flourished out students. I have been able to use these laptops for the past 4 years and each student has one laptop assigned to them.

Thank you for giving my NYC Special Education students the power of technology at the tips of fingers to allow for engagement, growth, and independence. Independence for these students creates confidence and can only allow for growth to occur along their academic journey.

Without Donors Choose, none of this would be possible.”

    With gratitude,

  • Color Can Brighten Academics For Special Education Students

    Funded Sep 4, 2020

Having a printer in my previous school truly helped my students grow academically. After leaving my school, I know the printer is being used to its highest potential and the teachers and students are excited to have their work printed in color since the school only makes photo copies in black and white.

The day we got the printer, the students were so excited and it led to our school being bright and colorful! I loved having a color printer in my classroom which is why I created a new project asking for a color printer when I moved schools!”

  • A Bright and Welcoming Classroom!

    Funded Apr 25, 2023

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. Without a printer in our collars room, our students don’t have the opportunity to be organized with color coded graphic organizers as well as behavior boards that keep us on track! Thank you again for supporting our classroom and we appreciate it!”

  • MacBooks for Special Education Students During a Pandemic

    Funded Oct 1, 2020

Your support and donations have made my students lives easier! Just having a laptop of their own during the Pandemic and now in the classroom has only allowed for them to grow their independence as well as their academic skills.

At the time of the Pandemic, these laptops were our child's key to learning and success. When our students were able to return to school in a hybrid model, they also were able to use these laptops to connect when they would have to stay home and learn. I truly to not know what I would have done without the support and help from you all during this time. Donors Choose has completely supported my students in so many ways and I am so grateful for you all!”

  • Cohesive Supplies Creates Organized Learning for Special Education Students

    Funded Aug 31, 2020

My students and I have been super busy getting back in the swing of things since Covid. We are constantly catching up with filling in all academic gaps as well as social emotional learning gaps. We truly appreciate your generous donation for this project and are looking forward to many more projects to help our progress grow more and more!

When my students first saw the materials in this project, they were so excited to begin having the opportunity to use it. I will never forget their eyes when they saw me open up the boxes! One of them was even in tears. Thank you.
