Sit Where You Feel Successful!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous contributions! My classroom has become a brighter, happier, and more creative space since the implementation of flexible seating. We use the inflatable bouncy chairs during small group sessions and my students are so much more focused. I allow my students with ADD and ADHD to sit on the textured seat cushions and it allows them to stay in their seat and focus for long periods of time without getting distracted. My students love all of our new seating, but the couch is by far their favorite. They love to sit and read on the couch during library time and they even collaborate on the couch during small group projects. Honestly, the integration of flexible seating has made a world of difference for my students. They are so excited to come to school each day and they all feel better knowing that they can sit where they feel successful. Thank you!”

Funded Jul 19, 2017Thank you so much for your generous contributions. When my students first saw our new listening center, their eyes lit up. We have the center set up next to our classroom library and we use it during Daily 5, which is an hour-long set of literacy workstation rotations including reading, listening, writing, word work, and conferring. My students LOVE going to the listening center and they are always excited to reach that workstation. It is by far their favorite. In the month that we have been using it, I have already seen huge improvements in my students' reading accuracy and fluency. Having the opportunity to listen to fluent reading while following along with the words in an authentic text has inspired them to become stronger readers. The English learners (ELs) in my class have benefited the most. Many of them came into my class scoring well-below benchmark on our entry level assessments. Through progress monitoring, I have tracked their growth and have noticed significant improvements since the implementation of our listening center. Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and support. You have made a remarkable difference in the lives of 22 third graders!”
