    Thank you so much for funding our project. I am a Special Education Teacher Support Services Provider and my responsibility is to help children with disabilities achieve academically in school. The cameras you helped us purchase have been used for a variety of special activities and projects. We established a lending program for students to borrow the cameras for school related trips and projects. This has been very successful.

    During the school year, the cameras have been used to photograph animals at the Bronx Zoo, the Apple store, Mount Vernon Hotel and during classroom activities. We have a school garden and were able to document the growth of fruits and vegetables through photographs using the camera you all purchased for us. The teachers were able to teach the students how to import pictures and create a simple slideshow which is a very daunting task for students with disabilities. These experiences have been priceless to our students. ”

    Thank you so much for your donation to this project. I am a Special Education Teacher Support Services Provider and my responsibility is to help children with disabilities achieve academically in school. I have worked on trying to use various techniques to teaching mathematics and reading where students can enjoy learning. The new board helps us achieve this goal. The response from the students was an overwhelming approval. Students are no longer sneezing and leaving school filled with chalk dust. A reduction of allergens that contribute to asthma has been greatly decreased as a result of the new board. Again, I want to thank you for your support. ”

  • iPods for Individualized Learning and Performance

    Thank you so much for funding our project. I am a Special Education Teacher Support Services Provider and my responsibility is to help children with disabilities achieve academically in school. I have worked on trying to use various techniques to teaching mathematics and reading where students can enjoy learning. The iPods you have just helped purchase will be used to creatively teach math and reading. Many academic applications, with data tracking, have already been downloaded and used within the classroom. The response from the students was an overwhelming success. They have increased their knowledge of basic mathematical functions and enjoy using the iPods for learning and competing with other students. Children are an investment and your investment is much appreciated. The supplies purchased, iPod, component cables and television, will go towards creating a media center where disabled students can work, individually or in a group, towards meeting their academic goals. This should assist them in academic success and progress in catching up to their general education peers. Your donation made this possible.

My students attend a Title 1 school and are identified as having various types of disabilities and require individualized and or group assistance in a small classroom setting. Our students are some of the most hardworking, happiest children we have the privilege of working with. We are one of the few Pre-k to 8th grade schools left in NYC, located in a district with the majority of schools being title 1, below poverty level, schools. Our school is located in The Bronx known for our world famous Bronx Zoo. Our students are doing their best to get ahead in their education. We appreciate your support towards making their goals a reality.

About my class
