  • Little Chefs Cooking Club

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you for your generous gift to our Little Chefs Cooking Club here at P369K. We are thrilled to have your support. After receiving the materials, the children were eager to experiment and felt confident using the tools. They really love using the aprons which sets the tone of responsibility during our cooking club.

Through your donation, I have successfully accomplished with guiding them in how to use child-safe knives to cut fruits and vegetables. This has given them hands-on experience and a sense of contribution to the dishes we have produced thus far.

We continue working towards autonomy in the kitchen using the tools. Our future projects include having each child create a dish and teaching the club with the supervision of the materials. You truly make a difference for us, and we are incredibly grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. F.

  • A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words!

    Funded Nov 18, 2019

Thank you for your generous donation toward "A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words!" It has been a positive influence that they have access to everyday access to the internet and the students are building and developing a respect and understanding of different uses of technology outside of gaming and social media.

The use of the Microsoft Surface Pro is also better at preparing our young students for the technology-based world that they will grow up in. Having been able to utilize the Internet to participate in research projects and web-based art activities allows for more availability of the technology and the ability to concentrate on their learning, which can be limited when you have a large class. That is priceless in the world we live in today.

Again, thank you for your donation. This is also gaining knowledge they wouldn't have been able to experience. We thank you that our students have an abundance in school that they can use and practice outside of school.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. F.

  • Paving The Way for Future Artists.

    Funded Oct 5, 2018

Technology plays an important role in and out of the classroom. We see it every day. Toddlers, children, and adults use electronic devices to communicate, have fun, and learn. Technology is a vital tool when it comes to meeting these new demands and expectations. Technology can better meet the needs of all learners and the it has also impacted the way I meet the various needs of all learners in my classroom during art. I can better asses my students in Art now rather than assess by hand; the tablet can take care of it quickly and provide a customized breakdown for each student. Online assessment has made managing data collection and recording much more efficient.

Out of all the products that have been graciously donated to use the students, I believe that the students greatly appreciate the water bins for painting. Having to use plastic cups the prior school year, many of the students were frustrated with the lack of movement they had to endure to keep the cups balanced; many had water spills due to the unsteadiness of the cups. Now with these water bins, they can move freely around their desk and be secure of their surroundings. The water containers has a place to hold all different size paintbrushes which is helpful because now they can use multiple paintbrushes without issue of space.

Working in a specialized setting, many of my students are at a different learning stage in their school careers. Using technology has enabled me to meet their needs where they can express themselves to answer a do now question on flip grid instead of the typical handwritten response. It encourages their thinking greatly because they feel confident to be apart of the classroom discussions. Technology will help this generation of children continue to develop, evolve, and adapt to the digital world in and out of the classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. F.
