  Thank you for helping equip our classroom with vivid and colorful new books, such as Iggy Peck, Architect and Rosie Revere, Engineer! I try to continuously develop a love of reading and build on the use of colorful reference books to culture a passion for mathematical thinking. Your books are a wonderful new addition to our math library, a blossoming garden of texts that are passionately poured over and modeled as we explore concepts such as using precision, drafting ideas, and project planning. To see students read with smiles on their faces as they share thoughts and ideas with their classmates is an unparalleled joy of teaching middle school. Thank you for helping grow both our library and our love of discovering unforeseen joys of exploration!”

The books that we have been fantastically fortunate to receive (thanks to you!) delve into topics of the artistic, creative, and imaginary, yet structured facets of mathematics. We now have students vivaciously exploring fractals, discussing efficient design, and hyperbolically hypothesizing about the perceived constraints of our universe!

• Baking Bread for Mathematicians Measuring Magnificently!

  Thank you all for bringing this grant to life! We are happy to report that we have already started baking (and measuring first, of course)! Our students are now nourished in both mind and body, thanks to you all! As students went through math class, the savory smells of freshly baked cakes and breads began to permeate, a well deserved gratification for those that went through our prep course on measurement and mise en place. Smiles, laughs, pride, and enthusiasm for dedicated work are now welcome additions to our math classroom. We'll work in the meantime, refining our recipe books, and continuing to learn about the bread baking process, taking into account how vital measurement really is. Thank you for helping us grow as both scholars and as humans. We promise to make you proud!”

• TINKER Projects to Build Things Better!

  Thank you for donating materials to our technology classroom! The materials make it so that we can continue with our projects and continue studying electricity, robotics, and circuit building. After researching many projects, we decided to build a phone from scratch. We learned about antennas, and the systems that are required for cell phones to operate.

  Once we got our supplies we continued to read up on putting the phone together and building the parts. We learned all about the pieces that make up bigger electronic machines, such as computers, video games, and phones - and we learned that sometimes it is better to build these things and know what is inside of them. Thank you for your help, you made the school year awesome.”
