  • New Year, New Materials!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you very much for your generous donation. The beginning of the year requires a lot of new materials to replace, replenish, and restock the classroom for the beginning of the school year.

The new resources have been used to complete art projects, to create new activities and they helped provide a fun, clean, and safe learning environment. For example, the colorful play-doh allows us to implement fun sensory time, we use it for activities, and we used each color as it coordinated with the colors of the previous weeks.

My students were all excited to use the materials in their new classroom.

My next steps for this project is to continue to use gluesticks for our gluing activities, and the dry-erase markers on my white board.

Thank you so much for your kind donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Palomo

  • Music and Movement!

    Funded Jan 25, 2024

These new resources were used consistently for our daily Music & Movement activities. The music sticks are used to play songs, and to sing and dance along to Danny Go videos.

The felt horses are used daily while listening to "Listen to the Horses" by Raffi. I play this song, after lunch to wind the children down.

My students were very excited to try the new musical instruments. Music & Movement is a fun time during the day. All students are engaged and they all participate. The materials provided made a huge difference.

I will continue to use these instruments throughout the school years!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Palomo

  • Books for a Bookshelf

    Funded Dec 5, 2023

The books that were donated to my classroom helped supply the classroom library. The books helped add a variety of genres, topics, and themes to the classroom library. In preschool, board books are preferred, as they can usually withstand preschoolers' hands.

The bookshelf that was donated helped expand the classroom library so that more students can sit, and read books together. In my classroom, reading consists more of teaching my young students how to handle books, flipping through the pages, while looking and talking about the pictures.

You have made an impact in my classroom. Thank you for your generous donation.”

  • We Need Paper!

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

The funding of this project provided us with beautiful, colorful, and alluring paper and cardstock to use for art projects, crafts, and activities.

In preschool, we teach through art, music, and play. The paper donated helped us fulfill that goal. My students were excited to create, cut, glue, and construct with the paper that was donated. I am grateful for the paper donated, as it supplied my classroom for the entire spring semester of the school year. The parents enjoyed the beautiful creations that their children made. Thank you for your donation!”

  • Everyday Essentials

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you so much for this kind donation. In order to teach successfully, we must make learning fun, exciting and engaging. Therefore, we need materials that are alluring and that capture students' attention. It is not easy supplying my classroom from my own pocket, therefore, these donations were extremely helpful.

My students were so excited when I first presented the sand. They were thrilled to use the water drippers and magnetic wands. With these tools, I plan to create fun and engaging learning activities where students learn through play.”

  • Cube Chairs

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My classroom did not come equipped with these essential chairs that help children with sensory processing sensitivities. Some of my students are working on sitting on the carpet during whole group instruction, and they benefit from sitting in cube chairs. These cube chairs have been labeled and designated to individual students. The cube chairs have been an effective tool that helps my students be included as part of the group. Thank you so much for your donation. These chairs have been, and will continue to be used regularly.”

  • New Rug!

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

My students use this new resource regularly. We use this rug for our whole group sessions. Students understand they have a designated square and respect the seating chart that has been implemented. When my students first saw the new rug, they were ecstatic. They were eager to come in and sit on it! This rug was a great contribution to my classroom because the previous rug was stained and worn out, the colors were also dull and not as vibrant. The new rug is colorful, and vibrant and has fun letters and shapes that we can assign to each student. The next steps for this project is to adjust the seating chart.”

  • Listening Center

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

Thank you dearly for our brand-new listening device! The storage compartment helps keep our classroom organized and the audio device provides my students with a fun and engaging way to read books. My students were very interested when they first saw the new materials. They were curious and they were very excited to try out the headphones. We use the listening device as a listening center, during small groups. The next steps for this project is to find more audio books and introduce visuals to keep reading fun and exciting.”

  • Back to School!

    Funded Sep 11, 2023

All of these new resources have been extremely helpful and have impacted all of my students. The kinetic sand is used regularly in our sensory center. Our Play-Doh is used as a fun manipulative and sometimes as a reinforcer. The water beads helped keep the kiddos cool in our water table during the hotter days. My students were very excited to see all of the new materials, the found the water beads and sea animals to be fun and engaging. Students did not want to leave the sensory table when it was time to rotate.”

  • Clean Room, Happy Room

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

Thank you so much for donating a vacuum to help us maintain a clean and happy classroom. Working with preschool-aged children consists of unexpected messes, and messes on a carpet are very difficult to clean. Therefore, this vacuum has helped us keep a clean and safe learning environment for our students. My students did not see the vacuum, we keep it in our supply closet but they were extremely pleased when they walked in on a Monday morning to a shiny clean rug. They once again felt comfortable sitting down.”
