• Creating a Cozy Comfortable Corner, Part 2

  Our classroom would like to thank you for the pillows and bean bag for our cozy corner. We felt very special upon their arrival. You've really helped us tremendously feel comfortable and more relaxed. Although the bean bag a bit small for a high schooler, many students have used it to lounge and read.

  Almost all humans need connection and proximity. It is especially crucial for this generation, who prefers to do everything via dms, and social media, to have some in person contact. I want my students to feel as comfortable as possible. The pillows and bean bag have helped us be as contactless as possible in the classroom. Often, when they are tired of sitting in traditional desks, I will suggest they go and sit in our cozy corner. They stay in my classroom doing their assigned work, but they get to be far more comfortable. Your contributions have proven quite popular for high schoolers who normally only get desks.

  With your help, my students feel supported in our classroom. I know my students will do a lot better with the extra gesture and encouragement the bean bag and pillows have given them. Thank you for your contribution to my students and making the world a better place (one classroom at a time)!”

• Wobbling While We Wearn

  My students and I would like to thank you for the Lakeshore Flex-Space Ergo Bounce Cantilever chairs for our tables.

  These Flex-Space Ergo Bounce chairs have really proven their worth. My students are tired and exhausted even in the morning when they arrive. The chairs have been incredible for their exhaustion, and impatience.

  With your help, my students have a comfortable space to learn everyday. As of today we have about 33 chairs, a full class set. The chairs are very popular. I even get a lunch and brunch crowd of about 28 kids that come and sit and eat their lunch and socialize, many of whom aren't even my students, but want a safe comfortable place to hang out. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your help, learning would be a lot more strenuous. I know these are tough times. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively.

• Board Games for Teens: Part 3

  Thank you so so very much for your help in funding MORE new games for our Games Advisory Class. My students and I profoundly appreciate all your generosity in funding our project. We want to thank you for all the new fun and exciting games. We have a larger array of games to chose from on a daily basis now thanks to you.

  Seeing my students almost completely detached from their phones, interacting with each other face to face, is truly refreshing. Hearing them speak to each other, strategizing, and laughing makes me so happy. My students' absolute favorite period is now full of genuine fun, thanks to your generosity.

• Lightweight Luminescent (Cell Phone) Locker for Learning

  Thank you so so very much for your help in getting our cellphone lockers. I am profoundly appreciative of all your generosity in funding our project (my students not so much). We want to thank you for all the lockers to better our classroom. I requested several lockers so that they could be distributed around my classroom and my students would have easy access to get them at the end of the period. My students, rather begrudgingly do put their cell phones in the lockers and are far more engaged in our lessons. I also love that they now realize that having their cellphone in their hands is a privilege and not a right, as many students now in days believe.

  I am so so grateful that I can get their attention more readily than before.

They are all being used daily. And are grateful for them.

  I too am grateful, as an instructor because with the games my students are completely detached from their phones and are interacting with each other face to face. It is truly refreshing hearing them speak to each other, strategizing, and laughing. Many have told me, its their absolute favorite period of the day as they have few worries and have genuine fun. Other students, whom are not part of the class, have expressed interest in joining, but we have no more room in the class.

• Worktables to Wobble While We Wearn

  My students and I would like to thank you for the two Lakeshore tables. We were thrilled with their arrival and continued use. While they dont fit our other tables, as we thought they would, we've made them work for our flexible seating, especially with pair/cooperative learning. They have definitely added to the great sense of pride as we've converted all our classroom to flexible seating.

  With your help, my students have a comfortable space to learn every day. These tables have proven so effective that I've written over 8 Donors Choose projects so that all my students sit at Lakeshore tables instead of the 25-year-old desks that I had in my classroom for over 20 years. For now 30 of my students have alternative seating using Lakeshore tables. With our declining enrollment, I think that will be enough. I may request two more jus tin case, but for now everyone has flexible seating at tables.

  Better classroom flexible furniture is essential to the learning environment. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your help, learning would be a lot more strenuous for my students and I. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job effectively.”
