    Thank you doesn’t begin to cover it. How do you say thank you when you’re going through your most formative years and rarely have a safe space to call your own? How do you begin to thank friendly strangers who see your potential even when you don’t yet see it yourself? Your actions are commendable and do not go without the highest of praise (even if it is from little ol me). Without your help my students (150~) would not have the ability to connect and form worthwhile relationships outside of their comfortable circles. What are we if not facilitators of the right path? Here’s to continuing education through community and inclusivity. Here’s to the teachers and adults we needed as kids. Here’s to you, a million thank you’s and smiles coming your way.”

My students come from diverse backgrounds yet all share the same safe space. My Media Center acts as the social hub for all social circles to connect and decompress from their busy academic and personal lives. Walking through the double doors, students leave whatever preconceived notions they may have about the world, and one another, and engage in meaningful and enlightening conversations; ones only made possible by their shared love in reading! My students are passionate and know what they're interested in learning more about. It's because of their openness with me that I am able to individualize book recommendations to fit their needs and assist them in deepening their understanding of the world around them. Becoming their Media Specialist has changed me fundamentally. These students have inspired me to strive for the same excellence that I see in every one of them! I am overjoyed to be able to give back to them
