  • All We Need Are School Supplies and Our Dreams

    Funded May 11, 2011

Your generosity has been a great reward to my students. The book bins have been a hit in keeping our books neat and organized. With prefixed labels the book levels stay on and the levels are easier to see. When it's time to hit the carpet to read, if its their day to shop for books, anticipation sets in, because each student already have his/her pillow color in mind. Students get excited, to sharpen pencils, so we had to stick to the rule of only the pencil monitor will sharpen all the pencils at lunchtime and beginning of the day.

It's just great to see excitement on my students' faces over gifts that help to promote their love of learning. Your kind gesture shows there are selfless heroes amongst us. ”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davidson

  • A Carpet of Dreams

    Funded Mar 9, 2011

To see the joy on my students' face as I unrolled The Carpet was an experience I will never forget. To see the excitement of receiving a gift from people who care about their health and well-being was a dream come true. It's so easy to find volunteers who want to be The Carpet monitor. Every care is taken to keep it clean. Whenever we use the dry erase markers and someone makes a mark the monitor has a stern conversation with classmates about keeping The Carpet clean.

Most of our learning and sharing is completed on The Carpet. So, The Carpet has become an incentive, which the students have created. They decide who will be on the carpet by the amount of work each have completed, or by the amount of books a group have read. My students have taken the initiative to make The Carpet work for them.

I am pleased that donors like you exist to aid in the learning and growth of our future leaders.

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Davidson

  • Reading Is "FunandMental"

    Funded Dec 17, 2008

Thank you so much for this wonderful donation! My students are going to be so surprised and I look forward to see the great learning that will occur as a result of your donation.

I apologize for the delay in my response. I actually had a baby 2 days after the proposal was filled! I am currently out on maternity leave, but I alerted the school to the delivery of these resources, and I can not wait to get back to my classroom and dig in to these things with my students.

    Thank you so much!

    Sincerely,

    Lesi”

    With gratitude,

I teach in a hard to staff school where many of my students experience households that are engrossed in poverty. I do however, have wonderful students who try to learn in an environment where they experience hardships daily.
