  • Blooming Flowers and Flying Butterflies

    Funded Mar 31, 2025

    This project really opened my students' eyes to learning about nature through speech therapy. They had the fun opportunity to watch the caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies and to plant their own flowers (which are currently still growing in our school hallway!)

    They've have opportunities to practice working on novel vocabulary, reading comprehension, sequencing, narrative retelling, following directions, describing, comparing and contrasting and so much more!

    We used the planting materials to make out own garden, the butterfly kits to observe our butterflies, and even had an indoor picnic with our picnic blanket after celebrating our butterfly release. Watching their plants grow has brought them so much joy and I'm so excited to be able to send them home with something they made out of love for the summer!”

  • iPad for Speech

    Thank you so much for helping me complete this project.

    I have been able to use the iPad slowly but surely to assist my students with their speech & language needs. I am able to model on an AAC app for my students with visual, auditory, and other learning needs.

    I am learning about new useful apps that can be used daily to help them with their targeted IEP goals.

    Additionally, students are able to feel as if they are playing games instead of learning making it all the more fun when they are finally able to reach certain goals.

  • Speech Crafts

    Thank you so much for providing my students with these supplies to make different cool crafts and have a variety of opportunities in their speech sessions to create, be creative, and feel heard. Students were able to make special gift crafts for their families, friends, and even some of their teachers through these supplies.

    Smiles were found on their faces and excitement to see creations come to life was a pleasure. They were provided with something new to talk about, communicate about, describe, answer questions about, have opportunities to take turns with a peer during, and so much more.”

  • Turkey Trouble Books for Speech

    My students have been enjoying the Turkey Trouble books since we finally received them. They are soooo excited to read the upcoming books based on Valentine's Day and Easter. They get excited when it comes to predicting the Turkey's next disguise and their reactions are priceless. They've been able to work on so many of their skills during our speech and language sessions including predicting, answering questions, following directions, sequencing, story retelling, problem-solving, etc. Thank you again for taking an interest in providing my students with fun materials to enjoy learning.”

  • A Little Spot of Emotion

    My students have had the opportunity to use these toys and books to talk about and learn about their emotions and how that affects their social skills when talking or playing with peers.

    We've used them in different scenarios to talk about character feelings, for example when reading books or watching video shorts on youtube together.

    My students have been able to open up about how they're feeling in different situations, such as when they are upset, excited, sad, and so on. We have even begun to work on expanding our discussions so that we can explain why we are feeling the way we are.

  • Excavating Speech

    Thank you so much for helping me expose my students to something new and fun to learn about. In our speech sessions, we were able to work on sequence, describing, comparing/contrasting, learning novel vocabulary, and so much more. We read and learned about archeologists, the tools they use, and what we have gained from their research. My students had so much fun discussing the gemstones that were found in their digging kits. They were able to share the experience with one another and really use strategies being taught to them during speech.”

  • Blooming Flowers & Flying Butterflies

    My students have been able to enjoy the experience of planting their own flowers. They come in every week and let me know about the exciting changes they see in their plants. They also talk daily about the changes they see occurring in our caterpillars and are awaiting the exciting day we can go outside to let them go in our little speech picnic!

    They have worked on so many speech goals including describing, sequencing, labeling, following directions, and answering questions.
