  • Phonics Help!

    Funded Oct 11, 2023

Your support has transformed our classroom, enabling us to introduce innovative phonics resources that are making a significant impact on our students' learning. The excitement was palpable when the students first laid eyes on the materials – their curiosity and enthusiasm were evident as they delved into the vibrant illustrations and interactive components. The hands-on nature of the resources not only facilitated the development of essential reading skills but also created a positive and engaging atmosphere within the classroom.

Building on this success, our current focus involves leveraging the acquired phonics skills in a creative writing project. Each student is tasked with crafting their own short stories, integrating the phonics principles they've learned. This project not only reinforces their understanding of phonics but also nurtures their creativity and storytelling abilities. Your continued support is instrumental in providing these enriching experiences for our students, and we are excited to witness the growth and confidence that this project will instill in them, setting the stage for their future academic success. Thank you for being a vital part of our educational journey.”

  • Cubbies For Our Classroom!

    Funded Sep 29, 2022

Thank you so much! Our cubbies have given us a great and clean place to store our items while we work so hard!

We have a shelf for our headphones and crayons, another shelf for our lunch boxes and our jackets go in the middle! These cubbies have made sitting at our desks more comfortable too- now our jackets can be put away!

These cubbies help us work on being organized and keeping our belongings neat! We even have class jobs to help keep them clean. We take turns wiping them down and making sure our classmates are keeping them clean as well. Thank you so much!”

  • These are a few of our FAVORITE Things

    Funded Dec 14, 2021

I am blown away by the generosity of Donor Choose members! My students were so excited to open the box and see the different materials that were purchased for them. The donation that you provided will help improve my their reading levels and reading comprehension, by making their learning more hands on! My goal is to work on getting my students a little closer to grade level reading! With the items we received I'll be able to help bring their learning to life and make it more engaging! The activities I design will help them reach their goals!

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!”

  • Digging For Fabulous Fossils

    Funded Dec 9, 2021

Thank you so much for your contribution to our project! My students loved acting as paleontologists and digging for fossils! Each student found a different fossil and then was able to research it and learn about it! They found, snake stones, coral rocks, shark teeth, and so much more! They loved the hands on experience and being able to use similar tools that paleontologists use(brush and mini pickax)! It was the perfect end to our Fossil Unit! It was a perfect celebration. Thank you for helping us celebrate our learning!”

  • Hip Hip Hooray-New to Second Grade!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Thank you so much for donating and providing my students with the items they will need to succeed. With the uncertainty ahead, my students will be lucky enough to have the supplies they need (for both in school and remote learning). So often students come in without the supplies they need and then feel less than because of it. Your generosity has made it possible for me to provide them with everything they will need to start the year off right. Crayons, markers, pencils- all items we will use on a daily basis. Thank you for allowing me to help them be ready for a great year from the start!”

  • Fresh Supplies for a Fresh, New Year!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for the back to school supplies! My students were able to the start the year off on the right foot! Each child has the tools necessary to succeed. So often the start of the school year brings stress and worry for the children (stressed about not having schools supplies, worried about making friends and who there teacher will be). with your help, my students were able to have one less thing to worry about! On the first day of school the students were ecstatic to see that in their groups they had pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks and so much more waiting for them! One of my students said it was "The best day ever!" When I asked why, he said because he was worried that he wouldn't be able to do any work because he didn't have any supplies I reassured him that there are so many people in the world who love him and want him to succeed that they donated them for all of us to share! At the beginning of school we work on an Identity Unit, where students focus on who they are, where they come from, what they like/dislike. We used the crayons and markers to complete our Identity projects! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your amazing generosity!”

  • Printer, Scanner and Copier ... Oh My!

    Funded May 6, 2019

This printer helped my stupid be able to type and publish their writing pieces, as well as be able to create "End of the Year" slides. They loved being able to work on the computers instead of using pen and paper! They were able to show their individuality and creativity!

Next year, having this printer will allow my new students the same opportunity- but for every writing unit! Writing is often a struggle for students, but allowing them to type their writing pieces motivates them to write more than ever before! Once their final piece is printed they always have huge smiles on their faces and are so eager to being writing again! Thank you so much again for the donations! Your generosity means the most to me and my students!”

  • Imagine All My Students Succeeding in Reading

    Funded Jan 1, 2019

Thank you so much for your generous donation of classroom supplies (construction paper, small easel, reading practice cards ink etc) My students were ecstatic to see all the boxes of supplies come into our room! It brought smiles to their faces to see and hear about all of you who donated to help them get classroom supplies!

The students use the daily language book every morning to work on punctuation, grammar, spelling- things that sometimes get forgotten. The books are easy to use and the kids love peer assessing when they are done, helping one another to do the best they can! The small group teaching easel and reading comprehension practice cards allows me to work with students in small groups to make sure that they are all getting the exact support they need in reading.

The construction paper and writing charts were used during our informational writing unit. The students loved being able to create cover pages and images for their writing pieces. They were so happy to hear that people cared so much about them and their learning that they helped donate!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Crasto-Magdits

  • Stop, Collaborate and Listen.. My Classroom Needs Your Help!

    Funded Dec 20, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation of classroom supplies (ink for the printer, pencil sharpener, dry erase boards, printer paper, and hand sanitizer). My students were ecstatic to see all the boxes of supplies come into our room! It brought smiles to their faces to see and hear about all of you who donated to help them get classroom supplies! When one of my students saw the new pencil sharpener, he said "Finally! One that works!" and all the students cheered. The one I organically purchased in September had broken and we were using manual ones. My students were mot excited about this sharpener!

The students used their chrome books to print non-fiction test features to use in their Informational writing pieces. Many of my students do not have that type of technology at home and were very worried about not being able to complete their assignment correctly. The ink cartridges and printer paper allowed my students to print exactly what they needed for their writing pieces! While some of them printed their pictures, they kept saying, "Thank you donors! Thank you!" It made me so happy that all of you contributed so that I can help my students fully emerge themselves in their learning!”

    Mrs. Crasto-Magdits

It is only the middle of the school year and we are already in need of some of the basics such as pencils, erasers, etc. We will be using these materials mainly for their creative interactive reading notebooks. We are also in need of tissues, Clorox wipes, some classroom organizational resources that will help make our classroom comfortable and healthy for learning. A well-run classroom is dependent on supplies being available and organized efficiently and effectively. Our students have different ways of learning and we need various school supplies and materials that will provide them with opportunities to express what they know. Basic supplies such as pencils, glue, construction paper, rulers, and a pencil sharpener are necessary to carry out innovative lessons that will engage students to become active learners. Having the supplies needed will surely contribute to each child's success in their learning and is necessary to implement this type of instruction.
